Hose Diagram no longer working on Cliff's site

Hi All,

It's been a few years since I was on the forum, but I noticed the images no longer load in the "hose locations" section of Cliff's site:

Does anyone know if this instructional exists elsewhere?

Sorry, Photosuckit ate the photos. What in particular are you trying to figure out?

I just liked referencing that photo since it helped a lot at the time when I was putting my bike together. I’m looking to purchase all new hoses (clear would be awesome). The last ones I bought from Pepboys and they were just too stiff, since they were made for cars.

I will order the sizing based off Cliff’s write up. Anyone recently purchase hoses and can recommend a site ?

Damn, so you're saying I shouldn't bother? Cause some years ago I also thought of mirroring Cliff's pages. And naturally forgot about it...

Maybe the wayback machine has some of the missing parts of the backup you took?

That’s a big shame, that site has the best tutorials I’ve ever seen. Is it due to domain costs ?

Think it was more of a matter of Cliff having other interests, so the site wasn’t maintained, broken links to pictures and files left unfixed. Good on Brian to salvage and and fix what he could with his copy that he linked above. The pics and files that are gone are likely gone for good. We’re all grateful to have what’s left, which is still a considerable clearinghouse of knowledge for all GS lovers. I also keep it linked in my signature so I never loose it.

As for the hoses, not clear, but black, at some point in the last few years, I bought new various hoses for carb connection from one of the online OEM parts dealers. Might have been partshark.com, don’t remember. Look up your bike by year and model, then look at the carburetor page. IIRC, each came in a length of a few feet, so I have plenty of extra and keep it in my tank bag. $7-10 a hose. I’m sure you could find it cheaper, you just need the correct sizes.

Thanks! I’ll look into them because these auto fuel lines are too rigid to work with. Clear would be cool so you can visually inspect fuel delivery

Cliff was using an assortment of free hosting spaces, and some of these went away over the years, and/or became unreliable. Quite a few links to other sites, especially file storage sites based in other countries, failed or became unsafe before we noticed there was a problem and began this effort.

I'm paying for my personal hosting and domain name anyway, so hosting these resources on my server in one place under this subdomain doesn't cost me any extra, and should last at least as long as I do.

If you're looking for something specific, please check my site; I was able to recover the majority of the GS-specific assorted linked files, PDFs, images, etc. and bring them into my server. Quite a bit of "general" information, and info not specific to Suzuki GSs, was removed because it simply no longer existed, and we did not feel it was important to track down replacements for stuff like Ducati manuals, long-dead blogs, or general motorcycle tutorials.

And of course, much of the remaining information is outdated and has not been replaced or updated. Take the warnings seriously and think for yourself, please... there's still tremendous value to be found, but you also need to remember some of this stuff is 20+ years old, and often there are better ways to do things now. And the creators sometimes made mistakes or left out information. Pobody's nerfect.

If something GS-specific is missing and you might have a replacement, or if you have GS-specific info to add that we don't have, email is a good way to contact me -- forum PMs do not seem to be very reliable. brian@bwringer.com .

Again, I'd much prefer to focus attention and resources on preserving GS-specific info rather than general old motorcycle stuff, other brand stuff, modern bike stuff, etc.
