I had put the maroon 1000C away a few years ago because it was smoking and i suspected the valve stem seals. Fast forward to this week i opened it up and when i cracked the head loose about a little less than a teaspoon of oil ran out of cylinder 4. Ive done many top ends and not one had oil come out of a jug when opened up. Plug was also wet with oil. Rings were pretty new without many miles on them. I checked the oil control ring and the ends are as they should be and not overlapped at the ends.
So my thinking is that even though it all "LOOKS" as it should i suspect the oil ring has allowed raw oil to pump up to the combustion chamber. I also thought of a broke valve guide but when i replaced all the valve stem seals none of the guides came apart so im eliminating a broke guide.
So what does the beehive say? Am i on track with being suspect of the oil control ring.
Im also gonna check the second ring wasnt installed upside down. I could have inadvertently did that too.
