A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Where to purchase GS850G Exhaust system

Great bike with a terrible exhaust system. It currently has a 4 into 2 with "turn-out" mufflers (if I can call them that).
In an ideal world I would have a 4 into 2 as per original but that is probably a dream.
I am looking for recommendations in my search for the best system available for this bike
IDEAS PLEASE!
I am in Australia but am happy to freight from anywhere on the globe to get the best that I can.
Do not want lots of noise just a quality and mellow system.
Your input will be highly regarded.

That's a nice looking bike! The exhaust doesn't look bad in the photo, although I can appreciate that the turns-out muffler isn't great. One idea, is to customize the exhaust with some different mufflers. The limit is your imagination. I've seen decent reviews on the "Dunstall" type mufflers. It wouldn't be unreasonable to try to graft something like these on.

Delkevic makes a good quality system. Decent price, sound and looks as well.
The American site shows three different styles.
There may be an Australian distributer.

Just looked it up, it says Delkevic has offices in Australia. Also saw they have slip-ons, possibly something to talk to them about as your header pipes look fine... Yes Ed, his part of the world got those spiffy, exciting looking paint schemes on their 850G & 1000G's, thinking only the U.S. 850G & 1000G got our drab unexciting paint.

Great looking bike mate, I am doing a 83 gs1100gk and on the search for a system too, don't want a load pipe either. Good luck on finding one. I'm located in Qld.

Hey a couple of other Aussies, cool! In Brissie myself.

I've seen Delkevics around locally and one of the guys I ride with just put one on his '77 Z1000 and it sounds pretty good.

The other place is Tranzac, and he lists all those models in his product list.

I had him make a custom 2 into 1 scrambler style pipe for my GS450 circa 2010 and he did a great job. Tranzac mufflers have what I consider the "period correct" burble for the '80s GS'.

I have a Delkevic on my 1000G. Nice product at a good price. I'm old school so I tend to like sound it makes.

I bought it from the Aussie Delkevic guys here in Aust through there eBay shop.
