A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Suzuki GS1000e/s/gs1100/gsx1100 project...

I have asked a couple of people if they have any on track video of me and the bike but it appears we are actually quite useless at remembering to do that sort of stuff so nothing that I'm aware of :)

Hopefully the video link works.. this was the 1st start up after the starter clutch upgrade, checking the shim gaps and changing a few shims.

    Starter Clutch Upgrade

Thanks for bringing up the heat affecting the magnets possibility as I hadn't thought of it. I have run the bike up and have 13.8v at idle rising to 14.4v at 3000 rpm. Let me say I was quite relieved when I saw the figures so all good. I fitted a SH775 R/R a number of years ago so I knew what...

I figured that I haven't posted any photos of the bike in a while as it has certainly changed over the years  This is at Brands Hatch on a track day

    Suzuki GS1000e/s/gs1100/gsx1100 project...

The saga continues... I was at Brands Hatch racing circuit here in the UK on a track day and while I was attempting to reach terminal velocity I missed a gear when shifting between 4th and 5th on the start finish straight. The engine, unsurprisingly, over revved and not knowing what damage I...

I bought a very cheap eBay oil temp gauge that came with it's own sensor, you will need to check the thread pitch as they are all slightly different to the Suzuki pitch. My bike was a 1000 S that had been re-framed using a GS1100 so the engine had the oil temp sensor next to the oil pressure...

Best motorcycle mobile holder for GPS navigation

I use a Quad Lock as it does exactly what's on the tin. The mount I used is a mirror mount that fits nicely on the handlebar brace, I also bought the vibration reducer and the correct case for my phone. It's a bit pricey but it works properly. There are bargains to be had on the internet if you...

    Suzuki GS1000e/s/gs1100/gsx1100 project...

So, a little while back I mentioned that I was going to fit a wide band lambda and gauge to the bike which has been done. The reason for this was to set up the 33mm smoothbores and before I get into that this is the location of the sensor. The 33's came with 140 mains with standard 17.5...

    17 Tooth 530 Front Sprocket

Just for info I have been running 17/46 530 on my GS1000 for over a year with no clearance issues or noticeable extra wear on the chain or sprockets, I have a GSX aluminium swinging arm as well.

MIKUNI Choke plunger seat replacement and Air corrector jets for GS fours VM's

Just to add to the thread, Rob refurbed my plungers for my 33mm Smoothbores a couple of years ago and I have had no issues since they were done and the improvement on idle was night and day. I cannot recommend the level of service from Rob enough as it is 1st class from a genuine enthusiast.

    Chain and sprokets '79 gs1000e

If anyone wants some extra bling for the 530 conversion there is a Renthal sprocket that fits the GS 1000, cast or spoke rim. The number is 221U-530-48P-HA. The picture below also lists the other Suzuki's that also have the same sprocket PCD.
