All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Well this just made my evening. Happy birthday, Trevor!

    Rockauto is not BS!

RockAuto gets a lot of my money because they are pretty much my first stop for all my car stuff. Although like monk says, sometimes getting brakes, pads, and rotors to all ship from the same warehouse is an exercise in frustration. Wipers at any brick and mortar are extremely expensive for what...

These are brilliant liquid dispenser bottles for $2 each

Thanks for the heads-up. I was recently looking for something exactly like this but they don't come up if you just search for "oil dispenser" and the like. Is the thing on the end of the spout just a cap or does it have some other function? (None of the pictures ever show it head-on.)

    Slate Truck

I was highly interested in this because I _love_ the goals they're shooting for. Until I saw that they're using plastic body panels. Meh. Saturn did that once and within a few years every single one of those you saw on the road had some non-trivial percentage of their quarter panels missing...

    My GS1100GL Story

I'm late to the party, but welcome to the club, from another Michigander. She's a fine-looking machine and there is no better place in the world than the GSR forums for learning how to treat her right. I took the Basic Rider Course offered by Lansing Community College for my endorsement back...

Secondary drive drain plug cracked casing

I would be tempted to go the JB Weld route as well. Consider drilling a hole where the crack ends to prevent it spreading. If it was mine, I would probably try digging out a fair amount of the metal so that the JB Weld can be sanded flush. With JB weld sealing it, the threads may not be able to...

What are the most beautiful GS models? Aesthetic questions

The GS700ES just feels like the pinnacle of 1980's motorbike aesthetic to me. Part UJM, part muscle-bike, part sport bike and looks to die for. I WILL own one some day.

    Suzuki GS Fork Cover Emblems

Hi All, A few years back when I bought my current ride ('79 GS850G), it was missing a fork cover. I managed to find one with the chrome still intact, but it needed an emblem. Predictably, these are no longer available. Well, my wife had a nice vinyl cutter and one thing lead to another, and now...

    1982 Suzuki GS 650G

Random comment re aux tanks... I bought what I thought was going to be a decent one off Amazon back when I tore into my first bike. I'm not sure if this is the same brand, but it's the exact same style: https://www.amazon.com/ALPHA-MOTO-Motorcycle-Professional-Compatible/dp/B004NV42PQ/ It...
