    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It does not go unappreciated. I reference your thread here often for inspiration in my own build.

    Progress!!! 1978 GS1000E Restoration/Performance Rebuild

Pretty sure Photobucket has slit their own throat. I pulled all my photos and deleted them. Imageshack seems to be ok and charges about $20 a year for unlimited storage/hosting. Looking forward to the images returning.

Did something i swore years ago, that i would never do.....

I'd imagine that turbo right below your forearm would make things a little warm. I am intrigued now though, what kind of performance can a boosted GL1500 engine make?

    Yes indeed. Nice picture.

Got them and the swingarm reducer/spacer bushings from Katman.

The tossed 78 GS1000 rebuild thread.

Found a little bit of spare time to get the shock mounts welded on. The same guy will be doing the fabrication of the frame bracing and welding it up but won't have time to do it until June. I was planning on getting it done a bit sooner so I could move on with the project but it is what it is...

    Basket Case Project 1980 GS1000

I'm working on a similar project. I was really wondering what to do with the old mono shock mount. I had thought about cutting it off and welding it up but your plug looks good. That a machined bit? Absolutely love the bike, great job!

The tossed 78 GS1000 rebuild thread.

Been a while since I updated this and progress has been slow with school, work and family leaving me very little free time. The frame was sent off to be sandblasted and inspected prior to laying down a coat of primer. As I somewhat expected there was no indication that the rolled steel frame had...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Welcome to the area Bob! The riding around here is phenomenal. I don't frequent Deal's Gap often anymore with the rampant stupidity up there these days so my usual rides are picking a direction and going until I'm well lost and need to head home. Then I'll turn on the GPS and let it escort me...

    1984 Katana 7/11

I forgot to put a bit of wood in front of the piston once and stopped it with my sandal-clad big toe. That was pleasant.

    1977 GS750 Resurrection

Negative ghost rider. Edit: Cancel that. All is revealed. Nice looking project. Admittedly I'm not of the 'Patina is good.' camp. I like shiny things. That said, you're right, it is a nice contrast.

81 450 project. Thing. Of some kind.

I bought one and wasn't very impressed. Ended up ditching it and going with Mikuni bits. Hoping OP has better results.
