A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    1978 GS750 tires & suspension advice / input

Update: I bought and had a Metzler Roadtec 01 3.5 19 installed with a new inner tube and rubber strip. Note we had to drill out the hole for the valve about a mm since the new tube's are a larger diameter. That's of course the front tire so will, when available, procure the rear matching 4.0...

Adapting Electrosport regulator - rectifier for 83-86 to 1978 GS750

    - Thanks. Solenoid was wrong because I moved it and despite the photos, made a mistake. Fixed now, no ride, it starts, runs poorly, charges battery 13.3v at revs. Probably still has an issue but Electrosport stator won't be here for a week and I will not test all the circuits until it's...

Adapting Electrosport regulator - rectifier for 83-86 to 1978 GS750

Thanks for the help. In the end I did have it wired correctly but when I moved the solenoid, mistook the wire to the starter for a ground. This was quicky diagnosed by the seasoned, second set of eyes who thought all was gwell after it started and left as he was in a huge rush. I knew it wasn't...

Adapting Electrosport regulator - rectifier for 83-86 to 1978 GS750

    - Thanks yes I am sure and appreciate all the input. I expect to get some help tomorrow and we'll just have to test every connection but given that it started before the reg + rec to reg-rec swap, the testing / issue is likely one of the connections that was changed. - Additional comments...

Adapting Electrosport regulator - rectifier for 83-86 to 1978 GS750

    - I will go check again but that is how I believe it is connected. I'd made a mistake first time round but the 3 from the stator go to the yellow wires in the reg-rec. It's a poor photograph so tough to see. Thank you.

Adapting Electrosport regulator - rectifier for 83-86 to 1978 GS750

It was charging at 13.3V when revved. Per the story, bike meltdown fried Dynatek, coils, e-ignition, testing etc. killed the battery. I installed and timed it, started it with the Old Rectifier and Regulator and it ran on all 4 seemed good so I did the test at the battery and at idle it wasn't...

Adapting Electrosport regulator - rectifier for 83-86 to 1978 GS750

Thanks. I called but he was not available So we've been exchanging emails with images. Adapting Electrosport regulator - rectifier for 83-86 to 1978 GS750

It's all connected but no power. I must have missed something or just did something wrong. Will send this picture with a summary to the contact at the company who said it would work in case they see my mistake. The 2 pics summarize how it's hooked up. I moved the starter solenoid to fit the...
