A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    1982 GS1100E - My First (Project) Bike

bonanzadave solidarity, brother. Will update if anything changes. Rob S. Y’know, I think that mag might be something I’d like to own on paper. I’m gonna search. The bike idles smooth at ~1050 RPM and pulls hard all the way to red line, which I need to do more often.

    1982 GS1100E - My First (Project) Bike

Further updates: beginning to feel frustrated. I adjusted my mixture screws out a bit further (3.5, 3.25, 3.25, 3.5) with these 47.5 pilots and exhaust is STILL popping on deceleration. I hopped on YouTube and watched every video that has an I4 GS with a Delkevic 4-1 and they seem to all have...

    1982 GS1100E - My First (Project) Bike

Suzukian & salty_monk Got an update for y'all. Took the advice and ordered some Mikuni 47.5s from Jets R Us. Took my calipers to them and they looked legitimate. Put them in today and ran it through the highest idle method with the new jets. Seemed like it settled at these adjustment screw...

Suzukian good ideas and planning on something like that. I’ve got a buddy who’s a disgruntled welder/metal worker… gonna catch him on the right day.

    Supertrapp Mounting - 1100E

I did check the site, didn’t see anything. Will take your advice slayer and get creative, haha. Consider this resolved, as I don’t think there are any other options. Thanks all!

    Supertrapp Mounting - 1100E

Hey all, Im looking into mounting a Supertrapp slip-on onto my 1100E, but it seems to be missing the hardware to mount it to the rearset bracket (could be misnaming these). I am attempting to mount it to my Delkevic 4-1, so prepared to modify the bracket or add hardware to attempt it. It has a...

    1982 GS1100E - My First (Project) Bike

Rob S. The exhaust and tires were the most expensive single purchases, I believe at ~$750 and $400 respectively. A real loose number would be around $2700 not including consumables like fluids, cleaners, grease, etc. It was probably more, but I’d prefer to leave some mystery in this relationship.

slayer61 Sweet! I lived in Lodi for a year and a half. Fun little town. Have you had one of those La Campana breakfast burritos yet? I need to ride back to Lodi for one. Rob S. I avoided keeping track of the cost on purpose, haha. I bought the bike for $500. I’ll get the number to you once I...

    1982 GS1100E - My First (Project) Bike

Suzukian - Looks like I'm going air leak hunting again! Are you suggesting around the exhaust? Wouldn't an airleak before the combustion cause it to run leaner and not pop at idle? Rob S. - thanks for confirming those instructions, I'll take it around town a bit here with the airbox lid off...

    1982 GS1100E - My First (Project) Bike

Hey, thanks for the welcome! The bike is an 1982 (Z) model, but I did acquire some three spoke wheels from the 1983 version and put them on, so maybe that's what looks different to ya.

    1982 GS1100E - My First (Project) Bike

Hey GSR members! I want to start by saying the GSR forums (and search function) have been hugely instrumental in getting this thing back on the road, so THANK YOU all.
