A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just saw your GS1000 paint project pics - looks fantastic! Please post pics of her when she's back together.

Also, I campaigned a 900SS for three seasons back in the early 80's, only in BOTT club races in New Hampshire. I was slowly working my way through the field one day when I was taken out by a late-braking Moto Guzi Lemans. I woke up with a nasty concussion and a lot of bumps and bruises in the Laconia ER, my leathers were cut to pieces and my helmet was in two halves (cut open with a cast cutter...). The Duke was a total loss, sold her for parts a month later. My finances couldn't support getting back into racing back then so I dropped out, would I do it again? You bet!!!

I'm fine, hit by truck, rear sub-frame and wheel are shot, In process of transferring everything to an 83 frame.
I hope you GSers like my new GS1000E blue & silver paint scheme. I didn't want to copy the 79/80 GS1000S blue & white color scheme so I borrowed a lot from the Aussie GS1000S & GS1000E paint scheme. I retained the same Camaro metallic blue and added silver to the mix. Almost done

    1100E,
I reviewed your 1100E photos and I certainly agree with Bonanzadave, Wow. I hope I can find a GS in that condition someday.

Great story on the 900SS, glad you were okay but I bet that basket of parts would be priceless today. For me nothing is visually or mechanically as interesting as the Blue & Silver or Black & Gold wheeled 900SS. I wish I were friends with Cycle World Editor Peter Egan, he has owned, sold and repurchased several 900SS since the 70's

I posted pics of my paint project in a thread "My GS1000 30th anniversary paint job" It seems a lot of GS1000S/GS1000 owners painted their bikes this last year as well (rudy, nvr2old, nessism, smagnusen)
I have a Honda R&R SH535 6 wire installed and battery voltage was 15.3V above 2500 rpm. No voltage drops at the sense wire which would push up the battery voltage so I decided to hook the sense wire to the Coil Relay terminal #87 per Pos suggestion. The Suzuki Manual says 14.0 to 15.5V is okay but anything above 15V for long period would boil the battery wouldn't it? I will test Monday

Hey..I'm an unemployed Chemist..we should start up a Chemical Engineering firm??..(sorry..had to do it!..lol) Love your paint scheme by the way!
Hi just hoping everything is going well and the charging system is doing better. See the Regulator replacement link. If you can find one of the new FET based regulators it should help your power issues.
