A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Fall is that time of year for potential buys or winter projects. This FJ caught my eye 1992 FJ 1200 22000miles, original owner. Needs a little TLC. Stored in garage. Maybe a GSer in the Bay Area might be interested?

1978 / 79 GS1000E Front Axle Spacer Orientation RH side

Photo in the 1st post is the RH side sitting on the bike. Referencing the GS1000S fische, #7 RH bearing retainer is inboard and visible. Question I have is #8 RH Spacer axle shows the shoulder OD facing out and next to the axle nut washer. The FSM GS1000E page 12-6 shows the spacer larger...

1978 / 79 GS1000E Front Axle Spacer Orientation RH side

GS1000E/S owner request: Can you verify the photo of the front axle spacer orientation is correct? The spacer larger shoulder OD is inboard. I ask because the GS1000 FSM shows the larger shoulder OD reversed and facing the axle nut. Must have been a drawing issue. TIA Steve

Help Id VM Main & Pilot Jet Manufacturer

I inherited lots of extra Mikuni VM jets when I purchased additional sets of Mikuni Flatslides for my 1981 Kawi GPz550. A couple of the Manufacturer's marks I have never seen before? Here is a picture of VM series Large Main Round marked RD & A B. Jet in the middle is the genuine article while...

    Just bought A Beemer

No laughing. A friend at work bought a 2003 K1200 RS with a ABS indicator light on. He shared BMW has discontinued the ABS units which are super $$$. I guess that explains the Craigslist ads I see occasionally with a cover over a BMW ABS light indicator? I have noticed all the K1200RS, K1200GT...

    srsupertrap's 1979 GS1000E 45 Yrs

Yes, I went to Frank Iacona's race shop in Totowa, NJ which was full of race motors & drag cars. Frank Iacona told me he won the Suzuki as the grand prize @ Englishtown Summer National which Suzuki sponsored. Suzuki was pushing V&H Pro Stock wins with the GS1000 back then. We made a deal and I...

    srsupertrap's 1979 GS1000E 45 Yrs

Fourth photo from last Saturday 9/21/2024 after replacing all the gaskets from the engine cases up. Everything is not perfect, to fit the Morris 18" rear wheel I had to remove metal from the inboard side of the brake stay tube to prevent tire contact. I don't recall that being mentioned :) 45...

    srsupertrap's 1979 GS1000E 45 Yrs

Mar 1985 with Camaro IROC Z blue paint job. My OEM black paint on the top of the gas tank was crap! Speckled and motley I had no choice but to repaint. As you know stripping the OEM paint was a bear!! I stripped and prepped and a new shop owner painted with Dupont Imron blue for $200.

    srsupertrap's 1979 GS1000E 45 Yrs

Mar 1984 inspired by Motorcyclist Joe Minton's Project GS1000 article. From Joe Minton, we resurrect a rotting GS1000 after it was parked because of a burned out R&R. Nippon Denso separate R&R 100% failure rate. :p

Pics of my 1979 GS1000EN beginning in Sept 1979 to Sept 2024.I purchased my GS from Frank Iacona of National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) fame for $3k in Sept 1979 with 6 miles. I found the ad in the NJ Want Ad Press which is what you did back then. I paid too much! Sept 1979 sporting a wobbly...

    New Stator(s) - No Charge

I will assume you have a 5 wire R/R installed. If that is true, you likely connected the three stator phases directly to the three inputs rec/rec, which means no stator output passes though the light. No other action required. We don't know what brand R/R you installed but most agree a used...

    New Stator(s) - No Charge

Ed, May want to provide JT-NZ a link to the thread about removing the stator loop going up to the hand control. JT-NZ Does your GS750 still have the OEM Denso Regulator and separate Denso Rectifier, or has the PO installed a single R&R unit?

    Q: How many GSer's still using Compufire 55402 R&R?

Just wondering for those GSer's who installed a Compufire R&R, how are the holding up a decade later? Has anyone switched to SH775 and if so why? Regarding Compufire prices they seem to be all over the place. Some new ones are several hundred while others are below $100. Probably cheap knock...

Honda ST 1100 in the garage

IMO, a sleek super slab sport tourer which sucks down interstates, ST's can be fun in the twisties (If the tank isn't too full) and get 50 MPG too. For a cheap touring bike you can best a ST1100. I was enamored with the ST when it was introduced in 1991.I owned my 92 St1100 for 12 years but used...
