A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Have a Happy New Year Dennis and thank you for the help
Hi, dave i will keep the clutch hub packed ready to post. I have the rotor but the magnets have a few chips and i would not use it, and the gear has wear on the starter boss. If your gear has a good boss it will be ok. A NOS gear went on ebay a while back i think it sold for 50 pound.
    Cheers, Dennis.

    Hi Dennis,

Just in case I cannot get my hands on a new starter clutch Dennis, could you save me the clutch hub, I will after re order the new starter clutch repair kit. Do you have the rotor and sprocket as well?

    Many thanks
    Dave

    Hi Dennis,

I am in two minds as regards the starter clutch, after reading through alot of threads. I have read about problems with the hub and the small springs parting company, wreaking havoc with the engine, particularly on well used examples. So at present I am toying with the idea of trying to locate a new complete starter clutch so I can just fit and forget. As usual all the best Suzuki GS1000 parts are in the US, the only one I have found in this country is Robinsons Foundry where they want ?215 for the starter kit, compared to $165 in the US (?132). So its internet searching time again.
That sounds a great idea for next year, the Whitby regatta, you can count me in.
Hi Dennis. Yes - JPA 557N - a GT250M in candy gold. Probably the bike I have loved the most out of all the bikes over the years. After a year of 60mph - ok 45mph.... - on an AP50 (KRV 967P - a blue one), being able to effortlessly overtake Ford Cortinas was fantastic. Still one of my top nostaligic moments is when I 'pulled' the blond lass from the Marathon advert on that GT ('a fistful of peanuts in every bar' ad). Oh to be 17 again - you're right, the sun always did shine back then!
Anyway, good luck with that 1100g.
    Regards
    Wally
