A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • PS. I hope you are doing well.
I have not talked to you after one of the times you were suspended, kicked off.
Is was when I decided I was spending to much time here and not enough time on my bike.
Hay Chuck, At a risk of seeming nosey, wondering about your health issues? Hip, A1C, etc. Glad to see you've just kept clicking along. Congrats on the air box lid, hoping somebody comes through with a fender..
Chuck, I was away and just got back, for some reason I couldn't respond to you from my phone, just send my what you have I don't need original keys to key locks as I can make one as needed.

Got a NOS set of stock 78 1000 grips in. And I agree with you Larry. I need to just take a weekend and finish the bike. But my sense of obligation to the customer service is strong and yes sometimes it feels smothering.

    Hi Chuck,
Robert from Toronto. I've noticed you've talked about lining tanks and pluging holes with saulder... I wonder if you'd mind commenting my situation. I"ll post it in the fuel forum. Thanks if you can.

Chuck, I am not familiar with deverter valve. It looks like you have a 77 gs750? Any chance of a picture of both lowers showing the mounting lugs? This would verify a lot for me. Sorry to be a pain I just need to know what I am looking for. If I get time this weekend I may drive to salvage yard and see what they have. Every option on e-bay is wrong! Either just like I have, single disk, or leading axle. Thanks for your time.

Hi Chuck. New guy gutterball here. I saw an old thread of yours selling '80 gs850gl parts. Do you still have any parts from that...say maybe a right side cover? I need one of those . Let me know if you have anything I can use. thx.

I was wondering if you still had the motor for sale and if so do you still have the head?

Hello Chuck, My name is Tim i live in Lockhart Tx. I have been reading many threads on extracting broken exhaust bolts (Three in my case) and your insight has been the most convincing. 81 GS450E is first bike and now my first attempt at extracting bolts. two of the bolts have broken of flush to to the head. I attempted to drill and extract them while mounted. I have since removed the Cylinder Head but don't have the experience or confidence to make the next move. Do you live close to the Austin area and or have time and the facilities to teach a newbie some extracting tricks.

    Hello Chuck,

Another member said you may be looking for a nice set of stock exhausts for your bike. I have a very nice set off my '78 GS750 that I would like to sell or trade to get me into a V&H 4 -1 system. Just thought I'd make the offer. I can send pix if you are interested.
