All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • Hi Willie, on the side covers you have, I have the same issue where the tabs keep breaking. I even made some with plastic and a bolt but don't trust it much. I was wondering what did you do to yours.

I wish I could help you but Joe Nardy was the one that modded these. I wouldn't be surprised if he'd respond to a PM if he's still dropping by the forum from time to time. Unfortunately, the GSR doesn't send you an email if you have a PM.
Good luck and have a great week,
    Willie

    I sure do miss that 1100 ;)

It appears that he used JB Weld to install the new posts. I'm not sure exactly what the posts were originally or where he got them.
I'm really sorry to not be of any more help. I'm going to respond to the request for a pic by asking, in general, for someone that can post a pic for me, to PM me their email addy so I can email them a pic to post. I hope that makes sense. :)

Hey Willie, just checked with Chad about the flywheel puller. He has had some truck problems...whole rebuilt rear end on his T100...poor kid. Took every dime he had to fix it. Anyway, he went to the barn, but forgot to look for the tool. Don't give up yet. He thought he had it at his place, but not, so it must be at the barn. I'll let you know when he finds it. Cheers, Scot

Happy New Year to you too, Willie. Yes, I am sure we have the flywheel puller...just where exactly it is is tricky. I will ask Chad if he can find it as I think he is going to our old barn this Friday. We don't own the barn, or the house, anymore and only some of Chad's stuff is still there. If I can locate it and get Chad to pack it and mail it, you are welcome to borrow it.
I'll let you know. Meanwhile, I look forward to meeting in the spring someplace. I drive a Roadstar 1700 and the roads here are really inspiring. Cheers, Scot

Hi Willie....well, I am back. Lost the thread on the GSResources since I retired in April, sold the house and moved to Franklin, NC. First thing was to visit the Dragon! Make me a friend again, okay? Also, my son is selling his GS1100GK. I posted it in the forum. Cheers, Scot

    Hi Willie,

Been a while since I have been on....keep looking with my iPHOne, but that is too hard to log in and respond. I saw your Happy New Year note. Thanks for the comment on the writing. We got involved at home over Christmas swapping engines from one 4Runner to another....after 2 years, it now lives. This is for the same son, Chad, that has the GK. We went to the Wed. nite bike nite in St. Petersburg last night...the GK runs great and the starter clutch is perfect. We now have a brand new, spare starter motor. Work has been crazy since the Christmas break. I still intend to upload all the pics and a write-up on the fix, but it is going to have to wait until I find some time. Cheers, Scot

    Hi Willie,

Well, the GK lives again. You may have read some of my posts re the starter clutch, there was a strange orifice or jet nobody could identify. We thought it may have fallen out of the stator cover...but now I don't think so. Anyway, we rebuilt the starter clutch and it works great. Chad drove it to Orlando and back last week. He loves it. Cheers, Scot

Hey Willie, We got the bike. Long drive in the rain...1400 miles in 27 hours. Unloaded the bike at a loading dock and Chad drove it home the last 3 miles. It runs great, but we have something amiss with the starter.

Hi Willie, I am a new member and my son is looking for a GK. You mentioned yours is for sale? I couldn't find an ad. Our direct e-mail is scotsonjathompson@ymail.com
Please let me know if you have a price in mind? We are going to look at another one tonight. Thanks, Scot
