    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • I know all about life getting in the way, but in my case it was financial. Emergency drain repairs and an unexpected furnace repair killed my bike repair fund. The last time I started the bike it was only running on three cyclinders so I shut down the riding season and started to pull things apart.

I will probably use Tremclad on a few small dings on my frame, the seat pan and the battery box. The tank, fender and side covers will need professional help and new decals. I want the bike to look good, but it doesn't have to be showroom condition.

Have you found a reasonable powder coater? I am jimdb over on GTAMotorcycle but I'm not very active there.

We definitely need to do a GS ride when the bikes are running. There are a few of us around the GTA. I will also remind my neighbor Ted that his Katanas are just GS bikes wearing a funny nose and glasses. If you need extra hands for reassembly, I work for free (or beer). I can also supply a Morgan Carbtune if necessary.

Hey Jim, I had been meaning to ping you ages ago, but life got in the way. Shortly after arriving in Toronto last year, my wife asked for a separation, which threw me for a loop as you can imagine (didn't see THAT coming when I agreed tomove here...).

Anyway, it's taken me a year to get my life sorta back together, and I recalled our exchange of messages when you posted on my restoration thread.

I have been working part time as an instructor with Learning Curves at the Beaches, and have integrated the GTA motorcycle scene. Paul Kahnert (GSR handle "doubleblue") has become a close friend and I have also spent time with the vintage bike crowd that hangs out behind Sam's Cafe on Sunday mornings (Woodbine & Stoufville Rd).

Weather permitting, I also go down to L&L on Thursdays during the season. We should get together.
