DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • Hi Ed:

I now have the SH775 - MANY thanks! (I always have US packages shipped to my friend's office in Livonia MI - and it sometimes takes him a few days to bring items across to Canada).

I have sent a couple of messages to the Forum moderators - but have not received a reply. Is there some magical handshake I need to use?

    Cheers and thanks again,

    Pete

    Hi Pete,

Your profile has turned off Private Messages. That may be why you are having trouble with the feature. Anyway, Frank will likely send you a note, thanking you. The important thing, though, is your contribution. Thanks

    Hello,

I'd like to order a couple of the o-ring kits from you. Forgive my ignorance but do you need anything other than year and model? I have a '79 GS1000 with what I am pretty certain are the VM26SS carbs.

I am doing my first carb rebuild for this bike, and I will need to rejet and tune since I bought it with a 4-1 pipe and pods. Does that impact what o-rings are needed?

    Thanks,

    Sam
I was looking for advice on brand of oil. I wanted to use Rotella petroleum type in the air cooled bikes. It supposedly has high zinc content which back in the days when I was a dealer service mgr was about the only differance in OEM oil and of the shelf oil. Rotella is available locally at fair prices.

    Hi Jon,
I replied to your PM regarding oil yesterday. Please check your inbox. Ed
The carb kit for the Kawasaki worked great. Found a used set of proper year carbs with good needles and needle jets.Tuner only likes OEM needle/seats. Runs excellent. I don't want to start an oil thread on the forum. Imagine that... Can I use Rotella T5 (semi-synthetic) oil In that same GPZ750? Making room in the garage.

    Good news about the O-rings!
Regarding, T5, it's fine. 15W-40 is better than 10W-30, which is kind of thin.
    Hi Ed,

You sold me a carburetor o-ring kit for my 1981 Suzuki GS750E. That bike is running well, so thank you.

I got my hands on a 1981 Suzuki Gs1100E. I could not resist. I will be getting this thing running again. Do you still sell the carburetor o-ring kits? This one would be a kit for the Mikuni BS34SS. I have your PayPal information . My plan is to send you $20 for the purchase. Does that sound okay?

    Best regards,

    Marten

Hi Marten! I'm glad to hear your 750 is running well, and also glad you are fixing up another bike! We need more guys like you, fixing old GS's.

To answer your question, yes, I have O-rings. Fire away with the paypal, and don't forget to send via "family and friends".

Are you on the KZRiders forum? I tried signing up 2 days ago, but have no response. I need carb jetting specs that are not published.

Yes, I'm on KZ Rider. What specs are you looking for?
Hello, carb orings please. 2cv sets 1 vm set. Also 4 pilot plus. For 78, 82 and 83 Suzukis, the last kit were very good. Thank you Joe
If you don't mind, I have a question. I got my GSX1100G carbs apart and found adjustable needles. Everything back together, Bike is starting and running good, but running rich during normal 60mph. rides, dark brown plugs. I've never dealt with adjustable's before so not sure how much difference I can expect out of lowering 1 notch? From what I remember changing 1 main jet size, for me hardly worth the effort, hardly noticeable. I guess asking your opinion, if I lower them 1 notch I will think yea, I think it's a little leaner or after lowering 1 notch I'll say yea, that made a well noticeable difference... I know dark brown doesn't say a lot, but quite a bit darker than paper sack color. I know nothing about computers and sending pictures. Anything appreciated...Rick P.

Well, Rick, you won't know unless you try. I doubt moving the needle one notch will change the situation much, though. Maybe try two notches?

Your opinion is all I's hoping for. Thanks... I kind'f figured a guarantee was out of the question.
Hey Ed, not sure if my paypal message came through but I'll take two of your o ring carb kits

    1981 GS650GL
Hi Nessim working on my 1981 gs1100E cam timing etc. I have exactly 20 pins arrow to arrow but the intake notch is a little upward than the exhaust, is this ok ?

Please start a thread and post photos showing the crank position, exhaust cam marks, and intake cam. It's hard to judge without photos.
I just sent payment for a r/r. Not sure if you still have my address.
