A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

My new project thread: 78' GS750

Trying to muster up some motivation to get this going again. Digging up this thread is step 1. Getting some clevis mounts to weld on the swingarm so I can attach the rear shocks is step 2. Then maybe I'll strip it down again so I can start to brace the frame...

    Steering stem torque

I have just screwed it "tight", never used a torque wrench, never had any problems. Just make sure you check it after some miles to make sure it hasn't come loose.

My new project thread: 78' GS750

So I sort of changed my mind when I came to this build and decided to toss all the gsx-r parts in favour of sv1000 and bandit parts. So for those of you who where hoping on a monoshock gs, sorry 'bout that.... The new plan consists of a sv1000s front end, a bandit 1200 rear swinger with ?hlins...

Should I get aftermarket headlight and gauges?

but the blue led I think is to powerful, it annoyed me a little since we have a lot of tunnels here and some don't have lights which means I have to use the high beam :P

Are these GSs really that Cold Blooded?

I'm in for the Prime setting too. Mine wouldn't start if sat for several days. But after I cleaned my carbs and adjusted the float height it was much better but still if sat for say a week or two or more it would need to be primed first.

Should I get aftermarket headlight and gauges?

I had the black 2.5" mini speedo and tach from dime city cycles. They cleaned up the front end real nice.

    Bandit 1200 engine in a GS750 frame?

I know the 1000 and 1100 engines are a bolt on upgrade but they aren't available, believe me I've searched. And the bikes that do occasionally show up is too nice(and thus too expensive) to be parted out and usually they're shaft drive anyway so not usable for me. There is one 1100 engine...

    GS 750 Exhaust question

i have a harris 4-1 on my gs, those where originally made for the 1000/1100 gs's. Head pipes fit, but because the 1000 engine is taller than the 7/850 engines they hang lower than stock. Haven't had any issues myself but other's have reported clearance issues, I also have some scrapes and small...

    Building a GS750 cafe racer

That's a great idea :) I have a 78 GS750 with an 850 top end, goes pretty well :) EDIT: cafe racer? You're going the 4-1 exhaust and pods route then? remember to re-jet the carbs accordingly if so.

Got myself half a K2 Gixxer. How to fit the susp. on my GS?

So, I've been out with the measuring tape now. I've been so caught up in geometry and such that I completely forgot about the wheelbase... I've been staring at that rear end thinking to myself that it is kinda off, too long, too stretched. And it sort of is, because the swingarm is longer than...

    Mystery Exhaust

I have the Harris exhaust on my 750/850 so yes it fits. But 750/850 engines are lower so the collector sits lower to the ground. Not really a big problem though.... Edit; and yes! The sound is sweet as...!

Here's the conversion bearings and new swingarm bearings pluss fork seals and dust collars :) mounted Changing the fork seals ment I had to make myself a new tool for compressing the spring... A piece of exhaust pipe, two nuts, some self vulcanizing tape and threaded bar and voila: a...

Got myself half a K2 Gixxer. How to fit the susp. on my GS?

Back with an update and maybe a new dilemma.... Because allthough I have all the bearings for assembling the front end now. A 2007 SV1000S appeared in my stable and as some of you know the gsxr usd fork is a bolt on upgrade for the sv1000 with them using the same bearings. So now I'm...
