    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    It does look good. Perhaps it is the perspective of the photo, but it seems like the fairing would direct a fair blast into one's upper torso and jaw rather than over one's head. Still, if it doesn't rattle around and takes some strain off of you, it's a fair price.

Pricing is different on the information page versus the order page, and when I clicked on the mini kit, it filled in the form with the Deluxe, so be careful when ordering that...

    I'll try to get a picture for you. I don't think I have any closeups stored digitally anywhere. Mine is the Deflector DX model, which they don't seem to list at the moment. IIRC, it has more of a rounded opening for the headlight compared to the ones shown here...

    Sounds like somebody slipped on a muffler at some stage. EDIT: stock it should have welded mufflers, and a clamped-in "H"-pipe, so three clamps total. Are you saying that the only clamp in the system is holding on the RH muffler?

    I find the valve sound on the 550es a little noisy compared to the setup on the 650G but I think of it as normal, thinking back on how they sounded 30 years ago (of course my memory couldn't be faulty)

I found the clutch cable routing to be a problem and went with a shorter cable, off a GS1000S in fact. It fits the shorter bars great, but is just a smidge too short at the engine mount...

    The only thing I can think of would be to create nesting "hoods" using heat shrink of some sort, but it would never be 100% waterproof, and you'd have to use a fairly tight fitting and maybe not very flexible sleeve that fits around the wiring to secure the heat shrink.
