I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    GS1100 Dyno Results Analysis

Jim , nice work on the graphs. WELL DONE ! From memory, I believe Suzuki rated the '80-'82 GS1100 at 105 and the '83 GS1100 at 108 while the Katana's were 111. IIRC. But that was a long time ago..Jim see what you can dig up on this . Thanks. Related topic, ..'84 1150 rated @ 119 and '85...

    GS1100 Dyno Results Analysis

IIRC the '80 and '81 GS1100 was rated by Suzuki at 105 hp. Even though the '81 was considerably faster in the road tests. Mainly due to the revised seat angles Suzuki used on the heads on the '81 models. JFYI. Terry

    Top End Noob

Mr. Cinders, I believe that some material from the head has already fallen into the cylinder and scored / taken out the rings in #3. That expains the oil in #3. Yes pull it down but don't buy anything untill you KNOW. Freshen it up with new rings, don't forget to hone first,.. AFTER you check...

    My clutch cabel just broke

I have had to ride with a snapped clutch cable MANY times over the years. push it while seated and get it going a couple mph is all you need and toe into 1st. While the revs are at idle, of course.. once in gear just roll on the gas and go. Toe to neutral before you have to stop. You can...

    Need valve shim 3.15mm

I need a large valve shim for the 1980 550E . I need a 3.15mm shim. Anyone know where I might get this size ? Seems the valves stems have been clipped on this engine. It uses large shims 2.80mm - 2.90mm but I need this really large size. Really don't want to pull this head to install new...

do I have a big bore in my motor

120 lbs on two and 90 lbs on the other two..sounds like it needs to come apart anyway. That is if the valves are all in spec. and no leakage at the head gasket. Then you will know for sure what you have. Terry

    Quick GS1150 BS36SS question...

2.250 divided by .03937 (1 mm) gives 57.15 mm . Much easier, IMO.

My bike dies as I come to a stop...

High float level will cause this also. Sloshes and blocks the vent and the engine momentarily wants to die. Check the float level and adjust.

    Dyna coils on a GS550

Anyone use the dyna coils on a 1980 GS550E ? They are much larger than the OEM coils. I believe they will fit but will have to be dropped down. Just wanted to know if anyone has installed these on early model GS's. Thanks.

    Problem with my 79 GS550

Sounds like a lean mixture . Choke on with throttle until warm enough to carborate cleanly? Choke richens the mix. Rich mix makes for easier starting, not needed after warm-up. You didn't state if you were using the airbox. Removing the airbox and using pods will do just this thing. Try...
