    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

How do I make exhaust noise as quiet as possible

Do whatever it takes to find a nice, stock 4-2 header and pipes. It's best for fuel economy, it sounds better than anything, it's quiet and increases the value of your bike. Downsides are they can be expensive in good shape and they are heavy. Just my opinion but nothing is better than stock pipes.

    Are Uggs proper motorcycle footwear?

Jeez. Just look for CE Approved ankle armor boots. Something like these is what I wear (actually those are what I wear, earlier model):

PVC Pipe and it's many uses....

I used to make all sorts of stuff from PVC. Most of it an utter disaster. It's too brittle when cold and too weak for anything other than low pressure air or liquid inside the pipe. This idea seems just as foolish as the dozens I have come up with myself.

TOOL: Test leads for electrical failure diagnosis, refined.

The only problem with this is that I will miss out on the occasional slip with my oh-so sharp multi-meter probe which always finds it's way into my hand. I will miss the blood and pain! Good tech tip!

    For the Walking Dead fans

I love the sound byte of that bike on the show. Unmistakable potato engine sound byte when it's obviously a Honda inline 4.

Fixing other guys bikes and ATGATT*

You must not ride with a lot of people. I ride with lots of the V-twin crowd and a lot of them ride with no gear at all. It's a choice people make, motorcycling should represent freedom of choice. So my advice to you is, if you can't accept other peoples choices about whatever, you should...

    Are V-Rods a pariah?

Yeah, that's a little messed up. I've raced against lightly modified HD Street Glides for Christ sake that blow those numbers away. Doesn't make sense. And can you imagine what $5k worth of work would do for a VMax?

    2000 Honda ST1100...opinions?

I almost bought one here in NH, test rode it from a private seller. One word describes it best... boring. It's not real fast, it's not a great handler, it's got no soul. I really wanted to like it too.

Muriatic Acid for bringing plastic back??

Yeah, it's phosphoric acid that is used to treat rusty tanks, did it myself once, worked like a charm. Don't know what the difference is with muriatic acid?
