A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    Uneven Front Tire Wear

That sort of brings me back to the suspension setup Q; my son had this issue with his GSX-R600 and the guy that rebuilt his forks got him sorted out. I don't remember seeing his tire, or exactly what was wrong though. My forks aren't leaking (his were), and I did the wire ties on the tubes...

    Uneven Front Tire Wear

A little over 5,000 miles on it are mine. Checking POs records, it looks like both front and rear were put on a little over 5,000 before that, so a little over 10,000. I usually wear out a rear first though, so that's odd... The rear's close to done, but wearing more evenly. I want to believe...

    Uneven Front Tire Wear

Awesome! I'm going to put on the new Dunlop and quit worrying. I'm going to keep a check on the rotors and that too (sometimes I feel all three of them after a ride, for temp differences; or all the wheels on my 4-wheelers, for that matter, if I suspect a problem). Fluid was clean, but yeah...

    Uneven Front Tire Wear

Man, I hope it's as simple as something like that. I don't see it on the rear though. I didn't even think about the hands off thing, but I had it out for just a bit a few minutes ago (to circulate the oil, move some gas through the carbs and so forth since I can't ride it regular 'til I change...

    Uneven Front Tire Wear

I've got a new set of tires for this (Dunlop Roadsmart 3), but until last night I guess I was in denial that I've got more going on here than new tires is going to fix (see the steel showing on the left side of the tire). Comments? I was looking at a couple of fork aligning videos today, and...

    Forks leaking after new seals!

That's good. My wife puts up with a lot out of me (junk about).

    Lurching after Throttle Roll-Off, Hwy Speed+, ZX-11

Yeah I'd think if something was happening to the cam chain it would be drastic. I checked my throttle after posting above, and it doesn't spring back like it should; it goes, but slowly and needs a little help to finish. It's got open and close cables which seemed fine when I was in there...

    Lurching after Throttle Roll-Off, Hwy Speed+, ZX-11

I hit 80,000 miles on the Kawasaki the other day, which may or may not relate to my question. It's got an annoying characteristic (maybe worse than just annoying), of doing the subject line, after maneuvering in traffic, and completely cutting the throttle to quickly get back in line as it were...

    Brake pad advice

Got the front brakes done; well, the pads replaced anyway. Calipers probably need attention since the wear was uneven. Checked the rear pads closer but didn't change them; looked like it could go a little longer even though one pad was worn worse. Fronts were BAD - one pad on each. Real good...

    Brake pad advice

Just saw this last post (I don't get notifications, if that's possible). I ordered some EBC High Performance Organic ones last night. Less than $60 for front and rear. I definitely don't want to wear out my rotors unnecessarily, so sounds like I got the right thing...? This has aftermarket...

    Brake pad advice

Anything to be said for just ordering the OEM pads if you can get them (Kawasaki)? My feeling is that's probably one of those things where the manufacturer's name doesn't mean too much, and aftermarket stuff is probably better. I can get them for the ZX-11, but they're $55-56/set (or over $160...

Fiddling the Mikunis on the Kat 750

Ah, Indeed. Thanks for the explanation. The art and science of combustion engineering (and airflow through the system, etc.). I've thought on occasion over the years that if the engineers of these things would/could effectively pass on their knowledge to the end users it would make me at...

Fiddling the Mikunis on the Kat 750

I don't know nearly as much as I'd like to about all aspects of the ICE, but I'm scratching my head a bit on this part: Cylinder pressure and resistance of the air-fuel mixture at the plug gap continue to rise with RPM? Isn't the cylinder relieved every time the exhaust stroke happens? I'm...

Could be; I never saw those.

    first time Suzuki drag racing

I almost ran the GS700 one time. Bought a thrift store leather jacket especially for that ($15 bucks I think, lol). Got to the track, and they wanted leather pants too. Never tried again, though I've had a couple of bikes since, that are significantly quicker. I think high 11s was claimed for...

Talk me into/or out of buying a Triumph Tiger

Have you seen the method where you lean your back against the seat and pick it up with your legs?

    Madura 1200 broken cam chain.

I'm reminded of a story someone on here told years ago, I think I even mentioned it before: As best I remember, the setting was evening, remote in Nevada somewhere; idk if it was a little cafe or what, but the guy had a Madura, and there were some other rougher bikers there, like sitting on his...

    Madura 1200 broken cam chain.

Speed numbers I see are decent for that style of motorcycle (IMO) - 11s and mid-upper one teens in the 1/4 mile.

I like those. Style and power.

    Sloppy Shift Lever, '97 ZX-11

No, you got it. If the washers took up all the space horizontally, there would only be undesired "play" up and down (essentially). As it is, if you looked at the end of the shifter (with the rubber) from the front of the bike, you could see it move around in something of an egg shape (it has...
