A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The Fear of Failure (First time restoration woes)

Ok, my mind was going to the rich vs lean thing on setting up the pods, not filtered well vs not so much, lol. The GS700E I rode for a little while had pods and ran quite well, so somebody did a good job. I think they were cheap ones though... The Kawi I have now has a K&N with an excess oil...

The Fear of Failure (First time restoration woes)

Never heard that before (eating up the rings); could you elaborate a little, if it's not a thread hijack to ask... Tks. Sticking with the subject though, I like the stock look. I'm still getting used to the turn signals molded into the fairing and tail piece (don't know what to call it) on my...

Race Tech Rear Monoshock - Rebuild or Replace?

No, the son wasn't; maybe 170. I'm 240. Not sure about the dad, who had the bike most of it's life, but I don't think so.

Race Tech Rear Monoshock - Rebuild or Replace?

Sounds expensive... PO said it was a "gold" something (gold valve probably).

    Opinions on a Suzuki vx800

The Japanese are still getting even for losing the war and all associated with that... It's either addict us to really nice stuff, or once in a while punish us with bad M/C seats... Lol. Seriously, I think some small part of their success might be not having to worry about national security so...

    Opinions on a Suzuki vx800

It's a V-Twin GSX1100G! I totally forgot about those. I like it (but I read the mechanical issues stuff too...).

Race Tech Rear Monoshock - Rebuild or Replace?

On my '97 Kawasaki ZX-11, old installation. Any opinions about that? I've never messed with suspension stuff. It's got a "remote reservoir"(?) under the seat, where the damping is controlled. I heard something about 175psi of nitrogen needed. I might have access to some nitrogen bottles...

    Back With a New-to-Me Kawasaki ZX-11

Yeah; I'm having just a little trouble controlling my throttle hand on this thing, heh. I had it out for a nice ride yesterday in 60F+ but WINDY, then today for a shorter one on an errand. Don't want to make an a$$ of myself or startle anyone rocketing around them any more than necessary. That's...

    Back With a New-to-Me Kawasaki ZX-11

Merry (winding down) Christmas... Just updating on the progress - finally was warm enough today to get out there this afternoon and do the fuel pump (and fuel tap). Ran the bike for a few minutes on an alternate gas supply, and changing the pump appears to have fixed the significant leak. I was...

    Back With a New-to-Me Kawasaki ZX-11

Looking like it might be the fuel pump that was leaking. Pulled the tank tonight, and it's still wet underneath it. It's on the RH side. The fuel tap (Kawasaki terminology) was wet too, so I ordered one of those a day or two ago. How common is that, for a fuel pump to leak? That's a...

    Back With a New-to-Me Kawasaki ZX-11

Aren't the '80 and '81 GS1100Es the ones with the square headlight? And the '80 1100L the only L with the 16V motor? Used to see things for sale that are fewer and farther between now. Funny how certain areas have/had a lot of a particular model or type. This thing I have now is way more...

    Back With a New-to-Me Kawasaki ZX-11

Thanks. Yes I can tell it's fast, but I haven't really opened it up too much yet. Has a heavyish feel. Seems to breathe really well - re-jetted, with the 4-1 pipe, flow commander... I like it. Sounds good too : ). Maybe just a tad loud when I'm on it - not for my tastes, but for keeping...

    Back With a New-to-Me Kawasaki ZX-11

Wellll, it didn't take long for it to let me down, lol. I've had it a week and it was dumping gas today when I was about to leave from work to go home. Part of the game of owning old stuff. Glad it didn't catch fire... Probably an easy fix. I'm about to get to know it better than I wanted...

    Back With a New-to-Me Kawasaki ZX-11

Howdy! Been a good while since I was on here, prob at least 4 1/2 years, since I sold my last bike - '91 GSX1100G. Just got me another one last week, and thought I'd come back for the "Other" bike section I seemed to remember (vs joining a Kawasaki forum right away). A little background I'll...
