A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

82 gs650e would start now it wont

Most likely means: Crank, no start. They like to use the word "crunk" around here. "won't stay crunked" is an example. I cringe every time I here this.

    77 gs750 fuse holder question

I have a 77 GS750 and no fuse holder was found however, a barrel type fuse holder (stereo style) was installed. I installed a blade fuse holder for the bike and a seperate one for the voltage regulator after I converted to a modern one. You should do the same instead of using that barrel type...

    Lurching after Throttle Roll-Off, Hwy Speed+, ZX-11

I switched to a mechanical timing chain adjuster on my 93 ZX11. Never heard anything about the cam chain issue that you spoke of. Having had x2 93 ZX11's, I read a lot about them. I do know that the ZX11 doesn't like lugging the engine. The low pressure fuel pump ( electric ) and fuel filter...

    CV32mm on a GS750E

The holes arent drilled so nothing deteriorated. As mentioned your carbs are either in the wrong place on the rack or you have several of the same position # carb. i.e. you have x2 - # 2 carbs. Also, I have a set of VM26's with duel fuel taps or duel fuel inlets. Could this be the case with your...

No fuel through carb, where do I start?

Your pilot circuit is plugged. Make sure the pilot jet isn't plugged from the factory... Float isn't stuck or fuel level to low - main would still be in fuel but pilot won't. Make sure the slide is open when you move the idle screw. I found this out and I thought I'd posted a story about it...

No fuel through carb, where do I start?

Sorry but I edited my post for the carb #. I forgot to space... might make better sense.. One thing I noticed during my carb rebuilds... The float bowl gasket. The dark gray gaskets are thinner (blue circle) and don't protrude into the float pocket. I've had them either stick wide open or...

No fuel through carb, where do I start?

Remove the air box, run the rpm's up to 3000 and place your hand over # 1 carb intake to choke it. Might be something simple. This is a quick fix for a plugged pilot circuit I've used through out my time in the industry. This will also tell you if you have fuel moving through the carb as you...

timing between 1/4 and 2/3 is way off

77 GS750 w/ Dyna S I had to adjust the timing on 2/3 pickup with my Dyna S. You don't need much movement to adjust these to get your timing right. Set 1/4 first and then went after 2/3. 2/3 was off. Went back and checked 1/4, moved pickup on 2/3 and everything came around. My timing is set. As...

1 cylinder low compression, or not?

Do a leak down test and this can give you a better idea of where it's loosing the compression. I suspect the valves were never adjusted, causing a tight valve and possibly coking it and no it's not sealing. I've torn apart 4 heads in the last year and found this to be true with all of them. And...

    ?'s about pilot screw o-rings ..77 gs750 (vm26ss?)

Just a thought. If you have the air bleeds closed I would be looking for two things... Vacuum leak at the intake manifold o-rings Plugged pilot jet possibly. You're getting air from somewhere. Remember the upper rear is ONLY air and the lower front is air/fuel mixture. If you've closed the air...

What's a close match for my 81' GS: Stardust Silver mettalic ?

I just painted my tins with a rattle can(s) - post in here about this. However, I didn't go OE color kinda - the yellow was used on M109R special edition. The white - is about to be repainted yellow as the bike doesn't look that good on the white side... pic below - see what I mean :p As for...
