A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Differences in GS1000l vs GS 1000ec frames comments

From old brochures the L frame have 1 degree of more rake. The L triple tree have less offset. Both the E and the L are dinosaurs compared to what it's available now. If you put longer shocks it will raise the rear and you will have the same rake has a E. Marc

I had one few years ago, always wanted one, they look nice. The engine seem better than the same era intruder, other than replacing the swingarms bushing it was trouble free. Both parts bikes were bought on marketplace, one was left behind when the guy moved out of an apartment without paying the last 3 months, it was complete and quite in good shape beside a faded paint. spoked wheels for a 650

The hub on the Madura 1200 wheel is really wide compared to the GS hub, easier to swap complete front end. I have fitted Madura wheel on a GS1000L, maybe 12 year ago. For the rear I only had to modify the caliper torque arm and mix the GS and Madura wheel spacers. Marc
