A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Installing new chain rivet type master link without chain tool

Cycle Gear has a chain tool that looks suspiciously like the Motion Pro tool with the exception of the box color. It is routinely on sale for around $40.

HWY 421 "The Snake" Northeast Tennessee

421 is one of my favorite all time roads. It is a tough road as there is no real 'rhythm' to it. It is unpredictable if you don't know it well. It also has much less traffic than the Dragon. Joe

Gas gauge quit working on S model

Jethro did a very nice writeup about cleaning up the fuel sending unit. Here's the link. It was years ago and the pics are no longer visible but maybe he can re-post them for you. Thanks, Joe

Cathy falls asleep on the back of the FJR all the time............a quick twist of the throttle usually wakes her up. :D

One other factor which will help define your choice is whether you require shaft drive or can accept chain or belt drive. Shaft drive is very nice, especially on the more powerful bikes. I have found that liter bikes are much harder on chains than bikes like the VFR and Shiver. Liter bikes also...

    Sport Tourers

One factor mentioned several times in this thread is the desire/need for two-up riding. Two-up riding is the main reason I bought the FJR. With the saddle bags (standard) and top trunk (optional) Cathy and I have done many long trips, as long as 5500 miles. Having a comfortable passenger...

    Sport Tourers

One other suggestion is to ride the bikes. When I first sat on the FJR it seemed mighty big. But once on the road it sheds about a hundred pounds. It handles much better than a bike this heavy should.

    Lets talk Spokes, folks...

There are several factors to consider when building spoke wheels. Spoke length and diameter are important. Stock spokes are usually thinner than aftermarket spokes like the ones from Buchanan's. This may require drilling out the spoke nipple holes, as Todd mentioned. Also, if you are switching...

    '82 Katana Fork Seal Problem

That's funny. I thought it looked like 'NOK' but I never heard of that so I figured it must be 'NGK'. It's hard with my old eyes......

    '82 Katana Fork Seal Problem

Good point Brian. The seals do not look like any OEM seals I have ever seen. They are completely flat on top and sides and have no markings whatsoever. All the Suzuki seals I have used have a raised lip on the upper inner lip and also on the outer lower lip. The OEM seals have NGK markings...

    '82 Katana Fork Seal Problem

I am in the process of replacing the fork seals on my '82 Katana and am having an issue with the seals. The new fork seals are noticeably thicker than the old seals. The part number is correct per Boulevard Suzuki's parts fiche, 51153-08C20. It is item #4 in the fiche. However, the parts above...

Have this set up to record on BEIN. I love that BEIN covers all the races and does not broadcast commercials during the races. Unfortunately we do not get HD like we did on Speed but at least we still get to watch the races. NO SPOILERS PLEASE!!!! Thanks, Joe

    1983 GS1100E blue color

Any good paint or body shop should be able to match the paint. A friend of mine came by with a DuPont Spectrophotometer, took a reading of my tank, then matched the paint for my scratched front fender. Thanks, Joe
