A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Bummer. I quite enjoyed his stuff.

    1982 Suzuki GS750T - Will it fit?

Ditto that. I like the Delko, but even the longer megaphone pipe is too loud for me. I made another silencer by modding an ex-Harley Dyna muffler and it's ok, just about quiet enough without being too quiet if you know what I mean.

    1974 Laverda 3C

My preferred method for cleaning tanks is a length of small linked chain - about 2m or less of 1/2" light duty chain like you'd find on lavatories. I moved to this after spending more time getting the gravel out than I did actually cleaning the tank.

GS1100E very slow cranking after warmed up

Have you metered the charging state? Wouldn't be unknown for a weak charging system to not put enough into the battery for a hot start. I take it you're not charging the battery between outings - overnight, for example? If so, it's starting normally every cold start with no charging? I'd be...

    Schott leather

That seems to be common with old riding gear. Must be something in the closet that causes it.

    Schott leather

About 40 years ago I bought a leather jacket made in Pakistan. It was generally classic 1950s rocker style and made of fairly decent leather with a good lining. That lasted for absolutely years and through a couple of spills , the only real failure was the lining simply wore out and that was...

    1982 GS650E More Ignition Issues & Gremlins

Yep, your freshly charged tool battery likely fried the original ignitor. What you have on that ebay listing is a knock-off of the Dyna system, the pickups are actually fully contained pickups and ignitors in their own right. They simply replace the ignitors and directly control the coils. The...
