1982 Suzuki GS750T - Will it fit?

I currently have a Delkevic 4 into 1 exhaust on Suzy.

Looks great.

Sounds bloody awful.

It's so embarrassingly loud.

I saw a possible replacement on FB Marketplace and I 'think' it might fit my 1982 GS750T.

But I'd appreciate your second opinion before purchasing.

Easy for me to say, but have you considered making your own baffle, designed to be quiet? Back in the day Kerker made several different baffles, from quiet to loud. They wouldn't be hard to replicate if you can find reasonable documentation. And no, the quiet didn't come from a bunch of packing, there were an arrangement of different internal tubes, to direct exhaust flow.

The one in the ad is better than the exhaust you have and looks in decent shape. The header pipes will fit, as it’s from same engine. Be sure to get 4 new crush gaskets. [STRIKE]Where you may have slight fitment problems is the the welded-on hanger tabs on the cones will likely not exactly line up with the passenger peg bolt holes[/STRIKE]. Scratch that. I took a pic of the engraving on the pipes on My T, and it’s exactly the same as the one in your ad. Also, looking at parts fiches, the part numbers are the same for the pipes on the ‘80E and the ‘82T. So the best I can recon is it should be an exact fit.

The ad pipes appear to be in very good shape considering their age. A few scratches and dents to be expected. The baffles appear to be intact and unmolested.

Ditto that. I like the Delko, but even the longer megaphone pipe is too loud for me.
I made another silencer by modding an ex-Harley Dyna muffler and it's ok, just about quiet enough without being too quiet if you know what I mean.

Before you install the new pipes you may want to check out if your bike is running lean? I believe pipes that are that blue/purple normally indicate a lean (aka hot) running bike.

She starts easily, idles brilliantly but...

...Suzy's big problem is a 'flat spot' around quarter throttle. That's the issue I want to fix. But on the journey there, are a few lower hanging fruit things that need taking care of first.

The new - to me - exhaust is a bit of a sidetrack. But was a totally random piece of luck, one to good to miss.

Once I've got that fitted, my next stop is the carbs.

And a new thread to gain necessary insight and experience from my fellow GS riders =)
