DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Why are CBs and KZs the popular ones.

I note that Hondas and Kawasakis of the 70s and 80s seem to be more desirable than Suzukis (go figure)(not to us, obviously). But what happened to the Yamahas? They werent bad bikes, and I always thought the black ones were really good looking. Why does there seem to be no demand for these bikes...

    Dropped wrist pin into crankcase??..

This reminds me of one of Ed Hertfelder's Duct Tape columns: Saturday Night Favor. One of his better columns, IMHO. Pity they're so hard to find these days.

    My New GS1000

Oddly enough, Suzuki started drilling the discs just for the appearance. They said at the time they didn't expect any braking improvement, the holes were just there to look cool.

    New GS1100G(K) owner from Colorado

First thing I always think of when I hear symptoms like that is the carb boots leaking air. Had much the same thing happen on my old GS1000G, and it was the carb-to-head boots had cracks. Should have replaced them but didnt have the green, so the mechanic smeared silicone sealer on the boots. It...

Tapping noise coming from engine at 4000 RPM - Suzuki GS550ES

It could be ping. Lower octane fuel can cause this, and there's not much to be done about it. I had some pinging with my GS110EZ which I improved some with colder plugs. It never went away completely.

Tip on how to "easily" get your carb rack back into the boots

I can think of 2 easy ways to do it: 1) buy new boots from time to time, and 2) pay someone to do it for you. Please note: he said "easy" , not "cheap".

Is the 1980 16 valve GS1100L Hard to Find?

I'll admit I didn't know that Suzuki went to the 8-valve engine for the rest of the GS1100L run. Learn something every day, I guess.

Is the 1980 16 valve GS1100L Hard to Find?

The 1980 GS1100L was in fact only built for the 1980 model year. Suzuki built GS1100L s for 1981, 1982, and 1983 as well, according to the model information tab on the GSR home page.

New to the Forum with an '83 GS850G, Minnesota

Welcome, welcome, Gn0hm, to the GS madhouse. The place isn't mad, but we inmates are: mad about Suzuki GS motorcycles. I commend you for acquiring, fixing, cleaning, and otherwise maintaining a GS850G. Yours looks much nicer than my '81, which I found in a barn several years ago and call the...
