A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    My Suzuki two stroke addiction...

Doesn't sound like it is as expensive as I was thinking it was. But still more than I can afford, lol. Really cool bikes though. I like the rare and unusual, as long as they are good looking bikes to begin with. I can appreciate a 1916 Harley Davidson for what it is, but it's not the most...

    JohnnyL's 1980 GS550L Cafe Build

Yeah, everything is shutting down. This is going to get much worse before it get's better. So sorry to hear about your father Johnny, that just a horrible situation for him. Bury yourself into a project. It will help take your mind off of things for a little bit at a time. Doesn't make it...

    82 GS1100E Mr Turbo Rebuild

That thing is going to be the coolest bike on the street. I plan to spend my "quarantine" time out in my garage getting mine back together too.

My vote goes to Redman Dave this week. The most interesting use of a fairing, LOL.

Harley vs Indian. This is going to be fun to watch!

I had a '72 Iron Head Sporty. Bored, stretched, and raked. She was a bad bioch, when I could get it to start. Broke my foot in 5 places trying to kick start the nasty B!TCH...

Dude... You have a problem... LOL Amazing work. Just stunning. I am just curious, from auction to delivery, what does something like that cost?

About time I introduce myself - gs 750

Welcome back. I too was an automotive tech for 10 years. Topped out and it just wasn't enough. Still work on all my own cars and toys though. Good luck with the build, it sounds like you should have enough to make one whole bike, with a pile of spares.

Picked up a pretty cool 82 GS Mr Turbo Bonneville special

That would make a lot more sense. I was thinking that S&S was made in America, but it does look old, figured it was just a really old one I haven't seen before, lol.

    painting with single stage

Seems like a good piece of advice. I suppose I have something around here I could do a test run on. I am still considering leaving the decals off of it. So while I am shooting color, I can hit my test piece at the same time. Then come back and sand a bit and clear just the test piece. Then...

    painting with single stage

LOL, well I don’t think I will be going with the roller or brush technique for this one. I painted my 750T the same way you painted yours. It turned out great. 10 years later and it still shines like new. That was the original plan for this bike, but I couldn’t find the exact color I was...

    painting with single stage

I do already have the paint, and it is a single stage pearl. It was the color I was looking for without going custom. Did the research regarding clearing over it before buying. I have a professional gun and have used it many times. I just haven’t used a single stage paint before and was looking...

    painting with single stage

The single stage isn't a rattle can. It's a 2 part acrylic enamel, that you don't need to clear coat over. It's an 8:1 mix ratio, plus I will be adding one part medium reducer. I am only clear coating it, because I am adding decals. I still may be going with a real acrylic clear coat, and...

    painting with single stage

Ok, so I have gathered all I need to finish up my bike this spring. (thread in "Other Projects" to come) I will be respraying with an automotive single stage Pearl Acrylic Enamel. I will then be applying stock like decals, and finishing it off with Spraymax 2K clear. The question of the...

Picked up a pretty cool 82 GS Mr Turbo Bonneville special

Wow! A vintage S&S with an accelerator pump... I might think you would want a bigger one for more street-ability. Don't really know for sure though, as I have never seen someone put a single carb on these bikes. The thought has crossed my mind before though. Mostly thinking of space...

    Another Cooley in the garage

But, they aren't the the same. They just "look" the same, lol. Apparently, the Pacific Northwest has an issue. They are INFESTED with MOST of the pristine GS's left in the world ! ! ! And as if it's a shelter for no longer wanted GS's, they keep ending up at Trevors. H3LL, there's probably...

    82 GS1100E Mr Turbo Rebuild

You can use a photo hosting website such as Flicker, or Imgur. I use Imgur my self. You can post multiple photo's that way, and they are full size instead of thumbnails. Really looking forward to this build thread. Should make a VERY interesting street runner.
