If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Motor Swap: 1150 into an 1100EZ

Ive just done this motor swap as well, i used all my 1100 covers on the 1150, trimmed up the gear selector shaft hole as i thought that would be a neater finish than cutting into the 1150 cover. If its already been mentioned sorry, but if your not using the 1150 with an oil cooler make sure you...

    Spoke Question

I've been toying with the idea of build a set that way with some spare hubs i have, and using an 18" rear. Ive got a set im getting made with wider rims that are costing $$$$+, however i'm interested if there is a more budget conscious way to build some wire wheels with just the hubs. You seem...

    Spoke Question

Great thread, very interesting. I wonder if the MikesXS rims are useable with 750 hubs and spokes?

A little hot in the shed this time of year, some 40 degree days this summer have kept me more excited to spend the weekends at the beach or in a pool somewhere instead of working on bikes in the oven otherwise known as my shed.... Still, weeknights after work have been semi productive. Got...

No visible damage to the filter when i removed it.

    1150 oil flow

Makes sense, oil cooler gallery blocked off and everything going through that small hole in the 1150 cover. I will be changing the covers shortly, ive had the motor running a few times with the 1150 cover on and the ports blocked, i'll post a pic of the filter if its been damaged.

    1150 oil flow

Yes, you did tell me thanks Blower. And obviously i knew there would be a specific reason for its use. I was just interested in that specific reason, hence me asking the additional question. Thanks for the explanation Koolaid, i couldn't find much information in my manuals or on here about the...

    1150 oil flow

There's a difference with the 1100 vs 1150 covers? Just need to get it going for now, will explore cooler options later.

    1150 oil flow

Hey GSers, Ive replaced the ruined 16v 1100 in my 80 GSX with an EFE 1150. When i got the 1150 it didn't come with an oil cooler....no worries i thought, the 1100 never had one and just had the oil feed ports blocked off. So my assumption (mother of all F....ups) was that i could just do the...

Yeh, its clear the 8 cell is far too small. I am more disappointed at myself for choosing the 8 cell after reading their advertising, rather than asking more questions and doing more research first. Daryl - Is there a thread on the forums about the ignition cut switch mod? sounds like something...

So....couldn't look at the flaky half painted rocker cover...so did some polishing and used a Kreem tank cleaner and sealer kit on the tank im going to use. Then got another GS in the stable. Then fired the 1150 up.. ran well for 3min or so. Bad fuel leak out the front of the 33s. looking...

33 smoothbore main jet extensions and over filling issue.

Ive just picked up my first set of 33s for the 1150 i've put in my gsx1100, so apologies if these are simple queries. I did a fair bit of searching before starting a thread. With the extensions, are they a standard thing on all 33s? Dose anyone know if they change jet performance? Or is...

    Ned's GS750 Cafe project

Just thinking as well, because of your front forks and the GSX leading axel your triples/clip ons will probable hit the 1000 tank. I changed my forks and triples to 41mm 1100 GK. the standard gsx1100 triples didnt clear the tank when they were on.

    Ned's GS750 Cafe project

well after measuring the bottoms there is next to no difference, i think though that the 1000 tanks are definitely wider across the middle section, and their profile when looking from above shows that i think. 78 1000 skunk on left, GSX middle, 80 1000e on right.

    Ned's GS750 Cafe project

Mounts to the same position. So should be the same for you. The 1000 tank certainly seems wider looking down from the top when the tanks are mounted. i'll go measure the bottoms

    Ned's GS750 Cafe project

I like what your doing with this, very similar to what im doing with my gsx1100. Ive also been going through the tank indecision like you are, i have GSX tank you currently have and a 78 1000 tank ive been swapping on and off the bike, i think the 78 tank is just a little too wide for my liking...
