Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

anyone know if 1100 jugs will fit 80-83 750 cases??
the heads fit ppl say, the motors fit the frames
so couldnt the jugs be used, and wiseco pistons made to fit the 750 rods, and 1100 bore

The 750 crank wouldn?t have the stroke for the 1100 jugs. Just put a 1100 engine in the 750 frame.

The 1100 engine bolts into the 80-82 750 chassis but NOT the 83. Ray.

Are the engine mounting points the same on the 80-82 750 whether it's an "E" or an "L" ?

In other words, can I bolt right up an 1100E engine in a 750L frame or vice-versa ?:)

As long as it is 16 valve engine in a 16 valve chassis as that is what I believe he is referring to. Ray.

yes they fit. you have to cut the bottom of the 1100 sleeves and take just a little out of the cases. you can go as big as 1197. using a 1150 block .. a 750 with stock 1100 pistons and block on it equates out to a 963cc motor. built many of them. makes a dang strong little motor

i have to disagree.
the 80-82 750's are far from strong.
i have had to many stock 750's with spun rod bearings...
i'm also thinking that the 750 has smaller wrist pins than 18mm.
not positive but seems likely.

i ment a strong running motor. they are 18 mm wrist pin. we get about 2 seasons on the rod bearings.. i set them around 40 thousands in the hole and cams at 114 116.

I would be interested in hearing more about this set up. 1100 engines seem to be hard to come by around here or expensive because of racing. I am retired and on fixed income so can't afford big costs all at once but could slowly buy the pieces a little at a time to build something like this for my 82 750 E.

purchase an 1100/1150 engine and have more HP and be cheaper in the long run.
plus WAY more reliability.

I would if I could afford the cost because I loved the torque my 81 had. As an auto mech I did engines for 40 years so I have no problem with the mechanical end and I can currently afford to spend only about 150 a month on parts and this usually gets eaten up by my V8 Fiero, my turbo Subaru or my swapped and lifted 78 F150.

another option is the 78/79 GS1000 engine..
these are dirt cheap and don't spin rod bearings and can be built up over time to make good HP and torque.
and they bolt in 750/1100 16v. frames.
