1150 carb diaphragm question

Im beginning a carb rebuild/cleanup/o ring replacement. I found the topside of the diaphragms were wet with fuel.

I held them up to a strong light pulled the diaphragms taught, and did not find any holes. Any ideas on what would cause this, and should I be concerned? I dont know if it matters, but a Dynojet stage 3 kit is and K&N pods are installed.

I also found that the intake boots are shot- rock hard and cracked. Again i dont know if that may be a part of this situation, but worth a mention.

i have seen them wet before..i always thought it was from the carbs being upside down.
but i have seen a small amount(mist) on some i have removed.

your factory boots are 00A's left and right.
you can use 4 lefts/4 rights ect.. by turning the boots over.
i think i have a like new set of OEM 1150 boots that was replaced a few years ago and then stored.
oh,
you can use 1100 boots.. the 492's but they are a little tight and smaller.

13111-00A00 is the Suzuki part # you need. Get 4 of them. MY cost is $15.45 each on them so expect something around 80 bucks total. There is an Ebay seller that sells all 4 intakes + all 8 clamps for just over a hundred bucks. I don't remember the seller name but if you search 1150 stuff you should find it.

Gentlemen, thanks for the input. Helpful as usual. The carbs are now fully stripped and all looks well, as they were partially done in '99 (they werent unganged and the o rings werent changed- I didnt know i should do so back then), and the bike has been ridden regularly since.

Terry, if you think your boots have some good life left, I'd be interested in purchasing them.

Ill check e bay as well. I do have a couple of gift cards to my local Suzuki shop, but im hoarding them a bit for something that is strictly dealer only (tire installs, etc).
