While I wait for the new coils, I rigged up the old stock 1150's. Problem is they don't fit on the 83 frame.
I have one bolt holding them on.
I fired it up, it started willingly, so I went for a test ride. About 3-4 miles in I got on it about 95mph in fifth. It started to cut out again, so I backed down to 60, and it still was sputtering, probably running on 1 or 2 cylinders.
I got off the freeway and pulled over. Having taken off the gas and seat several times this week, I didn't feel like taking it off, so I just tryed to fire it up and ride home.
Fired up on all four, and took it easy home.
I haven't changed the plug wires in awhile and I ride in the rain alot, however I have trimmed then ends on occasion and haven't noticed any corrosion.
I guess these coils could be bad too, but seems odd they wouldn't work either.
