A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1150 ES mirror replacement?

Had B-day party, friend drank tequila, fell asleep on 1150 in the garage, told him not to domino the two bikes-did anyway-my fault for letting him sit there, but he looked peacefully inebriated. I'm not concerned about stock appearance, but not looking for bar ends either. If anyone cares to share other bikes(even non Suzuki) that share the same hole pattern through the fairing, that'd be great. Thanks. If only one is available-it's the right side sitting on the bike-it fell into my Kat which fell into a shelf, with no damage I can see so far.

I think I have a right side mirror for the ES, but it is currently vinyl wrapped in carbon fiber.

When I peeled the carbon wrap off, the Arizona sun looked like it cooked this mirror with a lot of white oxidation on black plastic or ABS or whatever it is. I tried a Bosch heat gun I've had for years, and it really removes the oxidation, by almost turning the plastic molten. When the plastic began to get hot and darken with heat, I 'd move to the next area. Saw a video of this years ago, wondering if it actaully works. Wish I would have taken before and after pictures.

I've done that to a set of mirrors and it work great. I saw it here on some video someone posted.

There was a funny italian guy who used to have a Youtube video showing the technique. I just did it recently to a triple clamp cover :) Not perfect, but works better than Back to Black.

I'm simply glad you could put it to use!

Yes now I'm dealing with the broken turn signal. I tried a quick fix with abs cement and old vhs tape screws. Lasted one ride to the hardware store. The rubber inbetween the mount and lense was cracked too much to support the lense. Now I cut off all the rubber and found some long 8-32 screws. It's mounted, but the signal switch on the handlebar is making the the right front blink when pressed to the left. I only disconnected one connector.

Made the mistake of hanging my helmet on the replacement mirror, forgetting I just swapped it out recently. Next morning my helmet is lying on the ground and the mirror is missing. Not missing, just laying on the carpet in the garage. I had previous success popping the mirror our of the housing, but figure it'll crack this time. Any suggestions or tips?

Cracked both mirrors trying to persuade in to the plastic housing. Maybe should've used heat, but I was so close, just one corner protesting the last few mm.
