A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.
A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.
A good shop can butt weld the frame with no problem. They may also place a short piece of smaller tube inside to have better strength and weld penetration.can they just butt weld the frame where it was cut or would i have to get a smaller tube to place inside the two?
Not to say that you should do what i suggested, if you can get a new part for $50 then go for it. I only went that route as it would cost me $150AUS to get a new part, the same cost as buying the torch and rods to fix it myself. Now instead of a working part and a broken bin-worthy part i now have a working part AND the tools to fix a fair range of future stuffups/breaksThanks mike, ill take the cover and see, it might just be easier/better to pick up a new cover off ebay, i dont want to risk anything with the clutch and to buy the stuff might cost close to the $50 i found a cover for on ebay
Well got the thing back together, my new clutch cable has the wrong end and doesnt fit in the carb. Can i file that down to fit? Also the two hoses i replaced on the carb, where do they go? i get the middle one goes to the fuel filter/tank and the 4 on the bowls are just overflow, but not sure about the two in carbs 2 and 3, and the manual doesnt cover that. Should have taken note, i know. Putting on the exhaust i snapped a bolt in the block so that will need to be replaced and new bolts bought tomorrow. But she did start!
