    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It's too bad you live thousands of miles away. I bet our bikes would look good riding next to each other.
 
You bike looks really amazing man. It's very similar with what I'm trying to get mine to look like. I'd love to be able to crank something out like that in 12 days.

Quick question. I'm guessing that you have an oil temp gauge mounted on your case. How is that hooked up and where did you get it?

I still have the CB....lol...that one has been on the backburner for a while now.. Its for my brother-inlaw...and he wants to work on it with me but he's a firefighter and has been way too busy...especially now with the Santa Barbara fire.

Your 550 turned out awsome! What kind of paint did you use?

It will probably be a while before I do a chopper.... I've got way too many projects right now....lol....as always.

I just picked up a few more bikes.....I have to finish the GT550 .... I bought another GS750 and a Kawasaki KZ650 that I'm working on right now. I also have a CB400 Hawk that has been waiting for me to put back together.

I get a bunch of PM's asking how many bikes I've got.....well I have 3 of my own including the GS750 that I just finished. How many personal bikes have I had in the past?.....Too many!!!...I used to only ride sporbikes but these classics have opened my eyes to a whole new world!

I'm trying to convince my little lady that I NEED to get a Ducati 1098...lol... We have been to the dealership about 10 times now and I almost got away with it.....who knows....maybe one will be sitting under the tree with a bow on it at xmas time! [-o<

I get a lot of requests here in Southern Cali to build bikes....so most of them I sell off as soon as I finish them. Its a small business for me now. Started off as a hobby and now I have 20 or 30 people on a list that want a bike from me.... But time is the only factor and most of them just wait..lol.

I like posting my work on the GSforum because the peeps here are like no other forum! Everyone is here to help each other! I luv that.

As soon as I get the GT550 done (waiting for Carbs) I'll post a pic on my other posting.

Man, I gotta tell ya, you're still engaged...Get that 1098 before you get married, while you still have a modicum of freedom left! :) Afterward, you've got no shot (or decision making abilities). I got shot down, again, last night. I wanna build a 550 vintage racer...

I used to get the same thing when I was married before!.....LOL.....thats why I'm marrying this one! She loves what I do.....and she finally got the nerve up to try two wheels for herself....

Thanks for the compliments on the 550 - Just tryin to keep up with you :-D

I actually used the pre thinned ready to spray Duplicolor paint that you can find at Advanced or most other parts stores. The stuff sprays very nice, and really resists running. The only thing that I noticed is that the clear takes a long time to cure. I never got too heavy on any of the coats but you really need to place the parts or the bike out in the sun for a day or two to fully cure. Other than that I will be using this stuff quite a bit since its pretty cheap and available everywhere. The colors are limited but they have Black, White, Red, Blue, and Silver. The paint is sold by the qt. and is usually about $20 bucks a can.

I'm also glad that this forum isn't full of posers or people posting "hey, look how good my new chaps look!" Or thinking that installing new pegs on their bike is a major mechanical undertaking. There's real people, with real budgets (well, some of us, LOL), working on classic bikes. And it doesn't even matter to most whether the bike was purchased because it was a classic or a cheap beater, eventually nearly everyone ends up with a healthy respect for them.

And I didn't say I wanted to see you make an Intruder 1400 chopper, I said I wanted to see what you would do with it. Even if it's not my own personal style it's bound to look awesome!

Hey TXIRONHEAD......

Heres what I've been working on for the last week.... LOW and Mean! and it GROWLS too!!....lol This ones a keeper for me!

This ones just for you! :-D .......Ask and you shall receive..... I just finished painting it today.....took me about 4 hrs of masking last night!

Love the sublety of the flames, probably looks great going in and out of sunlight.......but floorboards?

I've worked on a few VStars over the years. Really reliable bikes, but the only thing I could never get over was the tiny exhaust ports. The pipes look like 2", but the actual exhaust pipe is around 1". Some creative machine work and pipes could really open those puppies up....

Regardless, thanks for the pics, very nice bike.

The exhaust is opened up already....It lopes really low and thunders at full throttle....and I lowered it 1 1/2 inches.... I am trying to fab up some front pegs to replace the floorboards....
