A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Its still not finished yet......still waiting on the petcock to arrive and after that there is some tuning to do but its almost completed....:)

Mate she looks heaps better! Nice work :D

Is it just the photos or do you still need to give that paintwork a polish?

Well the paint for now will stay the way it is.....I had a clearcoat I was gonna use however when I sprayed it on....the paint bubbled up.....so that caused great frustration....so I just decided to leave it alone and maybe attack it next winter.......

On another note I received the new petcock I ordered......so after filing out the center hole for the filter to stick through.....I got it installed only to find it leaked.....so I got some gasket sealent and reinstalled it only to find the on/off/reserve switch leaked......so again very frustrated at that........

Man that sucks... hopefully you'll get that sorted soon and you can just ride :D

And yep, paint can certainly wait... as long as the metal's all covered it won't rust and you can revisit that later :)

Nice choice of color! I was actually planning to go with the GSXR Blue, once I could afford it.

Although now I'm not so sure. Don't get me wrong, your bike looks good, I'm just not sure it's so me.

Good luck with the paint, (bubbles form because of moisture under the paint gassing off, shoot for a warm DRY day! This is why most people use the baking method as well I would assume.) and the petcock!

Well I got the petcock issue fixed.....no leaks.....I also got inspected and rode it for about a hundred miles.....I then got the itch for something bigger and due to the wifes rules of one at a time.....I sold this bike just today in fact.....so now the search begins for another bike......I do have the satisfaction of putting a gs back on the road though:). Thanx to all who helped with any questions I had...

Sold already? Wow that was quick!

So what's the deal now? A bigger GS or something else? And did you sell it to another GSR member? Would be good to see your good work get continued by the next owner...

Yea it was but its spring here and ppl are buying quickly. I'm looking at something like a xj maxim 650 or a nighthawk or Magna. No he isn't a member but I recommended the site so he might pop up

Cool, so just a small increase hey? Small steps up are probably the sensible way :)
