A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I plan to go with 120 rear & 100 front.... probably Avon's. Anyone got any reason why I shouldn't?

(POS on the back right now is a 110 Kenda, Front is a 100 Elite II)

Cheers,

Dan :)

P.s. Anyone know if 92.5 is stock Main jet size?

P.p.s Anyone got a #4 Carb body, CV type, for this bike. 32mm.

BS32SS for a GS550. Carb no 47090. Main jet 92.5, I know where to get a whole bank of them but you don't want to pay the shipping.

Originally would have been 3.25H19 front and 3.75H18 rear. Think that works out to 90/90 front and 110/90 rear. Used to run Avon road runners 28 years ago.

Suzuki mad

Avon Road Riders rock.
Amen! I have not found a Avon TYRE that im not happy using. Ive tried the RoadRiders and the Venom (X)/SuperVenoms, which I am not sure, but i dont think they make anymore unfortunately... Both i was extremely happy with, but the RoadRiders are good for the money as a few of the models are multi directional. great for those cafe projects that have same front and rear wheel sizes.

Thanks Guys.. I am using the Am26's on my skunk, great tyre. Soon to be fitted to the G as well.

Any comments on sizing?

Dan :)

On my 1100G i'll run a 130/90-17 in back (stock size) in front, not so stock 110/80-19. The cafe runs a 130/80-18 in back i think and a 100/80-19 in front.

Dan,
I run 100/90/19 front, and 120/90/18 rear on my 550, and my 1000. They will do fine. I ran a 110 on the rear of my 550 for a while and I liked it too.

If you like to run through the corners at a fast pace, don't be tempted to run a 110 on the front, or a 130/80/18 on the rear. They pinch the side wall too much and make the bike handle funny near the limit.

Try Donelson Cycles in STL for tires. VERY good prices and free shipping on orders over $100.
