SUPER SWEEEEEEET
Congratulations, you can wipe that silly grin off your face now, you look like a Cheshire cat.
I am so stoked for you, the RWC will be a formality, you will see.

This is a day to celebrate. To see you out zooming down the street.....such a sight!
Looks great and from what I can tell has a nice deep sound. The Mac exhaust I had on mine had a tinney whine to it. Yours in much better, by far. The seat/duck tail transition on these bike in hard to make look right. I had a bit of work to do on mine before I was totally happy, and I had stock parts. It's a hard bit that you can work out in time.

Keep at the fuel mixture and get it dialed in. For me this would be the hard part. Cheers!

Charlie G

That looked and sounded great!.Was a bit wobbly after the time I had not ridden in 5 or 6 years.

Thanks Greg! Yeah I was a little better after the third corner but need some more time in the saddle... now I can see me getting some :D

Indeed, well done Pete,

I bet your heart was in your mouth , gearin up, but you were grinnin comin back.

Cheers John

You betya John! Nervy all day up until then yesterday... some went away after I found the clutch and gears were good, then I had a stupid grin for the second half of the block that kept going for hours :D

My first thought when I watched the first video was "Jeezus! Turn man, TURN! I know you said you are wobbley but you're swinging way too wide, get back in your own lane!!!"
I am such a ding-dong.

Hahahahaha isn't it fun watching people ride on the wrong side of the road? I think it all the time watching you fellas over there :p

Damn son!
Thats a lovley sounding bike. Stoked that you got to ride it finally!!

Good luck with the safety certificate. I just went through ur entire Jetting thread. Got me wondering if I'll need to increase my jets too..hmm...
Will see how it goes after the carb rebuild.

Thanks mate! Stoked alright! Get your carbs together then see how your plugs look, if the next two sizes up works that means I'll be four up from stock...

WTG Pete!!!

Pure bike porn!

Fantastic sounding twin!
All of you efforts were most definitely worth it!

Daniel

Thanks Daniel!!! :D Yeah I'm so happy... all that effort is now in action at last!

Beautiful work and a great way to bring this to an awesome conclusion.......

How's that saying go, once you learn to ride a bike you never forget....

Here's to many more miles on your bike...

Cheers

Thanks mate! Definitely need more laps around the block to shake the cobwebs out, then there'll be no stopping me!

About dang time Pete. Congratulations and I sure wish you'd posted the part of the video where you were standing on the roof after all the jumping around I'm sure you did. So is the grin still on the face?

Cheers Scott, and yeah... far too long! But she's done! The health and safety inspectors banned that vid in case it encouraged other enthusiastic behaviour and resulted in some spontaneous excessive celebrations... hahaha

And yep, I still have a silly grin every time I think I just rode it round the block... people at work are gonna think I'm weirder than normal today!

"Conclusion?"
I beg to differ.
I am believing that this is only the new beginning to many up-coming
years of smiles and great times on two wheels. ;)

Daniel

You say true!

the build, only the build......

there is never a conclusion to riding on two wheels.....:)

Oh, the build isn't concluded yet either... there's a few more things I wanna do that won't help get a safety certificate so they can get done later...

Congrats Pete that is a Nice reward!!!

Thanks mate! It sure is :D

SUPER SWEEEEEEET

Hahahaha cheers Stan! I ain't wipin' no grin off my face, I'm gonna wear it like a medal today :D

As long as he's happy with a not quite perfect idle then all will be well in the world of me ;)

Charlie G

Thanks Charlie! I had some celebratory beers last night for sure!

I'm lovin' the sound of the exhaust too and yes you're right it's got a nice deep sound and is a little on the rorty side as well :) The pipes Tranzac make definitely have a unique sound and I love it.

I'm thinking a run of that 1mm aluminium sheet I have across the top of the tail piece there should do it nicely and I'll sand it for the brushed look so it doesn't stand out too much...

And yep, gonna try to get some more pilots and mains ordered today for some more jetting fun :D

Working tonight so I'll be taking tomorrow off.

That means I've been able to book the mobile safety certificate guy to come and inspect my bike :D

Unfortunately I also have to get it complianced as a two seater because it used to be complianced as a single seater...

I've also ordered some jets today and am getting them express posted, but the safety certificate guy doesn't think the return to idle issue will be a problem.

Fingers crossed it's all good...

We are all praying/crossing fingers for you as well.
Eagerly awaiting the great news!

Daniel

It will be fine Pete, you have put a lot of hard work into that bike, and all of it is top class, I doubt he can find anything sub standard.
Idle ain't really a safety issue anyway, so don't sweat it, if he finds issues, I will be the first to cry foul.

Thanks guys! About 6 hours and I should know

The concern is really the braided brake line from Canada and the headlight that I was told was ADR approved but has no markings on it that I can see...

"Inquiring minds want to know."
He is probably out riding it. ;)
With a BIG FAT GRIN on his face.

Daniel

Yeah, he is going to have to change out his toothbrush for the wire brush in the garage to get all the bugs out of his teeth. :D

My first thought when I watched the first video was "Jeezus! Turn man, TURN! I know you said you are wobbley but you're swinging way too wide, get back in your own lane!!!"
I am such a ding-dong.
That goes both ways, I was thinking "Pete wasn't that bad, what's HD on about?". Then I remembered that you guys ride on the wrong side :D
Hehehe..

Pete..
What can I say?
I've only just caught up as I was down at the 8 Hour for the weekend.

Fan-bloody-tastic.
I got a buzz watching the video so I can only imagine how you must have felt wobbling around the block.

We've all followed this thread like housewives with a soap opera.
This is the Scott & Charlene Wedding episode. :)

You're probably off getting your certificate now so I'll keep an eye out tonight to see how you went.
I know the government drones can be a bit narky and don't appreciate the work you've put in but I reckon you'll be right.
There is nothing glaringly wrong for them to pick.

That's where I started wondering why I kept getting grumpy all the time, and I realised exactly why... won't let that happen again!

Once she's done I don't intend to be bike-less for any period of time again :D
This here. This bit.
Pete has had an epiphany.
Welcome back to the land of the living, brother, don't leave again.

Theres nothing more brain dead than driving to work in the car, or sitting on the train, trying not to make eye contact.

Your

it!

It can... and did :D

So?????????

Yes :D

Not *quite* that far... I'll go into detail down below, but it is ready for rego :D

Hahhaa not quite yet but soon!

Arrrrgh please! Not Scott and Charlene!!!! I managed to skip that whole series altogether so far... hahaha

Thanks mate, I'm quite surprised at just how many are following this thread and it's awesome to see the moral support and encouragement along the way :D

And yep, I have the safety certificate :D

Oh, and details on the 8 hour please! Did you have a blast? So jealous of how close you are to that track...

Yes indeed! It is good to be back, even if I'm not quite fully there just yet... ;)

One lap around the block and already I'm kicking myself... man have I missed that! That one lap is so much more fun than a lot of crap I've done over the last nearly 10 years...

Very true John! I think I'll still stick to the train in the majority for the peak hour rush to work (I have AMCN for company at least) but I definitely hope to ride fairly regularly as they have some designated free bike parking outside which is great.

The guys at work who ride tend to duck out in their lunch break for a ride every few weeks too so that should work out well!

Tens years of dreaming and working = total payoff!

Way to go, Pete! Looks great, sounds great, runs great!
