So i picked up yet another project. Currently running two projects simultaniosly. The German Cb500 and now this bike. Got the body work off as of now and new decals from RD DECALS ( AFE GRAPHICS ) on the way. Tank has a bit of damage but its all fixable. Few scratches on nthe tail cowl so it all gonna be redone. Pics will "eventually" be posted ( Larry HA HA ).

Mine has black chrome pipes and a black bikini fairing with a real dark mini windscreen though. I think the black chromers may be early GPZ pipes??? Yes???

That's really clean! I didn't remember them having the rectangular headlight. Is the fairing you have maybe a GPz fairing?

Im head back over to the shop..I will take pics and post later. Thats not my bike in the pic..just a pic showing the bike model.

Basically the same bike as the 1982 GPz750. One of the best! Be careful installing the valve cover after checking the valves; the tensioner spring must be removed because there is a rub block in the cover which presses on the chain.

Took the body work off and took the chassis to the car wash with a spray bottle of Simple Green and an assortment of brushes and put the body work back in place for these pics. When I got the bike someone had hammer fisted a good size dent to the left oif the filler neck. I assume this came almost immediately after he picked the bike up from the accident that caused the dent on the lower left frontal area.

Tank went across town to our guy we use to work out dents and he did an absoultely amazing job as compared to the jumping in point. I new he wasnt gonna get it all but we are gonna use a bit of putty and make the rest go away. All in all im stoked about yet another one to tinker with. Already rebyuilt the carbs and fired it up and synced them...and yesssss it sounds sexy as he!!

That seat's seriously ugly chuck. Wow! Time to check Pit Replica...

Cool bike, Chuck. I painted a 550GPz a number of years ago and the tank shape was very similar. When you get ready to put those decals on, have a heat gun or hair dryer ready, because sure as s--t they'll want to wrinkle right where the tank bends at the knee dent and at the front. Gently warm the decal and keep tension on those areas and it should lay down with little to no problem.

ED.....pit replica cant fix the non stock foam. Trust me I am on the hunt for a stock seat. Cover condition isnt an issue. Just want the stock foam to redo this abomination.

Its off an 82 GPZ but its the correct seat. $100.00 shipped. New Pit Replica or Vintage Spoke cover to be applied.

Score! Great looking seat and awesome price!

Been a busy weekend on the KZ. Thanks Ed for the service manual link. Managed to put new rings and valve stem seals in and put it back together. Fired it up and no smoke ( was showing signs of bad stem seals earlier (. I figured if its that far diown may as well do rings as well and have everything as new from the get go. Monday I had new brke lines made and cleaned out all the calipers and master cylinders. Now for aint and decals and then a ride.

Seat arrived today and its more than I could ever wish for. Decals are here as well and all the body work is in primer. Its wont be long now and I SWEAR that i will post pioctures. I SWEAR !!!!!

As promised, the seat pictures. The body work will get some black splashed on them tomorrow. It hard to just do them without breaks. Today makes 23 days straight working n10 HR days minimum. Im just a little tired to say the least. Monday i had all new brake lines made, broke down all then calioers and master cylinders for inspectionn and ncleaning, reassembled everything and installed the new lines. Only part i needed was a front master diaphram which is ordered. All the mechanicals are done so the last thing is the sexy black body work!!
