A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

You should use the coarser paper just to cut into the top layer of that black crap.

Do nothing but graze and open the surface so as to not make any deep gouges to the substrate.

Much quicker.
What black crap? The side cover itself is black lol.

yup, as Rusty said (even if that means you may need to spend an additional 2 bucks on the paper) :p
you probably want to finish off with 400 wet
OK. I'll get some more paper. I already know the sanding and prepping procedures. It's just that all I had was 220 grit and didn't feel like going to the store .

My top end oiler and carbs are gone by the way.

Painted the front fender and right side cover.

It was done with Dupli-Color's Chrysler rattle can paint. Remember that I'm on a budget. The red matched the original OK but you can tell lol. I'll install them tomorrow. Still need to wet sand then polish them.

I will get a real paint job done whenever I can afford it....

All that work and you painted them red?
red is a girl's colour
Ummm... Would I have wanted a mis-matched bike like last time? I would rather not have to paint the gas tank right now either.

Besides, I'm about to register the bike next week :D.

It looks like it's itching to LEAP!
Looking forward to what SHE thinks after the first ride :D (no leaping with her on the back!!)

I wonder if you guys noticed that there is something important missing behind the engine LOL! I so want to ride it right now!

Looking good FC. I would be tempted to do the rest of the bodywork in the same way...

Oil pressure switch and oil temp sonsor with wires. Thanks TeamDar!

My lights still do not work so it must be the CPCU.

Hmmm... Didn't see your post. It is very tempting but there is only 1 more month of summer. Need to ride now! And I might spill gas all over the gas tank and completely ruin so it will look even more like crap .

Slowly saving up for a REAL paint job. What I did to the fender and side cover is just a temporary fix.
