A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It already is running good.

Yeah, I'll let it go. Love the color on it though.

I guess I'll just focus on the electrical problem like I should be which I haven't even looked at yet...

Yes! Do this... by the sounds of it you'll be wanting this as your daily driver for the new job soon, so what cash you have for now you should be putting aside to get it running safely so you can reliably get to work and back each day.

I would suggest calling your new boss on the first day and telling him you'll be late because the bike broke down won't be the best move for your career...

That color's a little 'disco' for club1100 yo! :D

Shipping gouger, it'll sell at $80 or so with the jackass charging $82 for shipping.

Actually, $80 is what it costs to ship all of these parts using UPS.

I know because I weighed my 1100E bodywork in the hopes of getting it painted and I got quoted between $80-$90 to ship within the US.

Which is why no one wonders "What brown can do for them" anymore.

USPS would be 40-50

Anyways, it went for $102.

Damn! Got my camera today.

I turned it on and it works great except when you take pictures, lines show up in it. But other than that, it works great.

So I swapped the screens. I turned on my main camera but all I get is a blank black screen. The backlight is on but the screen is black. Why? So I switched it back over to the parts camera and the screen does work as it should.

So... I'm thinking that my good camera isn't so good anymore. :(

What causes these lines to show up? Lens? Motherboard?

There's my good camera with broken screen.

Did you notice the lines in the picture? What is causing that? Maybe it's time for an upgrade.....

Try switching the sensor from the cracked screen one to the one that has lines. I'm not sure if sensor is the right word, but it's essentially the "film" on a digital camera.

You really should supply us with the make, model and firmware revision from your camera.
Put it in your signature file.

Does this thing have an A\V out? If so plug it into a TV and see what shows up on the screen.

Haha! It's a Nikon S550 with a firmware version 1.0.

Here's a picture I took just now.

It looks just fine indoors. Some lines on the wall but not too bad.

Then I tried outdoors.

Interest! it is related to light.

Cna you change the settings to manual.
Can you manual set exposure and white balance?

Try altering every parameter and jot down the changes.

I turned flash on and off, raised exposure to max and then to the lowest setting. No change.

I then tried to capture a video and that works perfectly, even outdoors.

how about saving those posts for the nikon resources site zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I guess no one likes the bodywork... Well I do!

I'm gonna be sooo ****ed if it goes with only 1 bid at $49...

LOVE that bodywork....a little more purplish that I'd like but WAY better than the red if you ask me :D Being that blue is my most fav and red my least I could be a little biased

I think your red looks much better, and the red on the tank looks wrong. I'd want that white or black on a blue tank. Stick with what you have, sink the money into other parts :)

That bodywork is nice. Purple is a good color in the right tint though...

Right you are. It seems that my wiring harness is "different". I received my right hand control switch off of a 1982 GS1100E and it did not fit my wiring harness. Strange indeed.... That's why I will buy a brand new OEM harness soon.

Got myself a chain guard. Does anyone know what size bolts it needs?

I don't understand these questions. All the bolts on the bike are the same, M6-M12 generally. 1-1.25 thread pitch. Take off ANY of the bolts that have a 10mm socket head, like any of the ones holding on the electronics parts, and it should thread in. AKA I'm guessing it's an M6x1, and roughly 2.5-4cm long. Rear should be a bit longer, and you know it goes in front of the swing arm in the back, and behind it in the front, right?

P.S. hack up your harnesses on the controls, put the old plug on the new hand control, problem solved.
