A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1983 Suzuki GS1100ED --- "Big Boy"

It's a 1990 Nissan Pick Up, 4 cylinder, rear wheel drive.

It's a really old truck with over 300,000 miles. I'm thinking it should be retired and isn't really worth fixing.

Unless the tranny/drive train is shot, just look around on CL for some drifter that wants to unload their KA from an SR swap. Pretty much the same engine.

Someone just HAS to say it:
So, what are you going to buy to work on now?
Are you already planning on selling it?
How long before you give up on it?

Daniel :( :( :(

Tell you what I'm gonna do Allen.....Next time you think you want a bike call me. We will call it the "TeamDar" bike. You won't have to work on it at all. Just send me $500 to start with. Then each week I will tell you that there is something else wrong with the bike and to send me $100 to fix it. After about 3 months when you have spent $1300 to get it running + the $500 for the bike you will have $1800 invested. Then you can call me and tell me that you need a car and I should sell the bike. If I'm feeling generous I will send you $1000 and send you on your way. You didn't get to ride it much (not at all) but you didn't even have to work on it so you really came out ahead! What do you think? ;):p:lol: Dar

I found this post rude. Like you're dissing me. I didnt want to give up on the bike. I needed the money to fix the truck and to buy tools for my new job. But then again, maybe bikes are not my thing...

Its the internet, don't take anything serious. You bought a bike, made it looks and run great, then upgraded. You've fixed a lot of things on this one and now are making the smart decision to sell it for a car. Don't doubt your decision, you knew going into motorcycles that they weren't the most practical and technically a discretionary expense.

Well I, for one, hope you stick around with or without a bike. I have enjoyed your posts.

You think my posts are interesting? Awesome :) I think I'll just tie up a few loose ends on here first though. Being here or any other bike forum will tempt me into getting another bike but I'll pop in every once in a while.

Another bike will come along.. they always do..
Watch CL.. if you are quick and lucky you snag em for $100-$200 sometimes..

I spent $100 for my first GS1000L with title.. $125 for the 78 GS1000E again with title..
After that it's usually $1000 in parts to have em running & reliable with new tires.

You did good with that one.. the next will be easier.. go for it when you have the spare $$

I've said it already. I'm not coming back to motorcycles for a while. 1 year? 5 years? 20 years? Who knows... I just know that I have more important stuff to deal with such as work and school.

Good luck with that.

I've said I'll never get back into VeeDubs.

Everytime I see a nice bug, or a Subi swapped Vanagon... I have to remain calm.

That is a sad sight. Someone got a sweet ride.

Best of luck with school and whatnot. We'll be looking for you in half a decade or less.
