A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

It will fit, but it is absolute junk that will end you right up where you are now and have to go through this garbage again. Enjoy

It was junk... Totally fried and total waste of my time. I'm getting an OEM from ricks motorsports. My connector piece fried as well so I will have to wire it up me-self

fried wires

fried wires

check under the tank, look at all the stater wires, mine were shorted out from the tank rubbing/pinching them, this is what led to the burnt r/r on mine
just get a good newer rectifier, thats the same wire codes, and youll be fine
these didnt just start dropping after they left suzukis doors, i had to fix all 3 yellow stator wires, cause they rubbed and bunrt each other, i hope this is your "simple problem"

Yea your bike looks just like mine! I just ordered an aftermarket OEM style Rectifier from Ricks motorsports. Did you have to take the tank completely off?

Did a quick search but does basscliff or anyone have a quick link to cleaning grounds? Any and all papers thus far have been super helpful. Want to make sure everything is in order. Really hoping my stator still tests GOOD...

A good wire brush on all surfaces, a little dielectric grease to help keep out corrosion and I use stainless steel star washers on both sides of the ground terminals so they dig in real good and maintain a good ground. You might be interested in some of these for replacement and to extend a single point from the battery negative to different parts of the bike so it isn't relying on bolted together frame parts for a ground. This would also include the heat sink for your R/R. http://www.z1enterprises.com/ListPromotionGroups.aspx?promotion=new_parts_May2013

Ok great. That's what I have done with the battery and solenoid connections thus far. Bike is surprisingly clean. I guess until i find something obvious I may never know why the Regulator got roasted. Is it typical for those R/R's to completely melt like my attached image??

Yes, that's what we have been trying to tell you from the beginning. They are very prone to failure. How they fail depends on the individual condition of the wiring connectors and grounds on the bike and the R/R's particular component failure. Honda had better R/R's than Suzuki, but all the R/R's of that era were not very good. Many of the replacement R/R's for these bikes sold today are not very good. That is why people here have compiled a list of R/R's that have proved to be reliable over the long haul. The series R/R's are at the top of the list, probably the permanent solution. Then there are the listed shunt type R/R's that work the same as the stock R/R's, but built with more modern and tougher components. Some of those also have a voltage reference wire that makes them somewhat more reliable. Dead last is the OEM replacements and aftermarket replacements.

Bike is charging nicely! Thank goodness. One question though, if anyone else has a stock gs750e where are your RPM's when you go 65mph on the highway in 5th gear??
