DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey peeps,

I am new to the forum, I've searched high and low for write ups on cafe racers and its seems that all modifications are preference based... can anyone provide a general rule of thumb, specifically to GS Line?

Anyone have a link for a repair manual? Recommend good websites for parts?

Its a 1984 GS750 es, I've stripped the fairings off and I want to start fab work, putting on the headlights and adding a new cluster... what's safe to delete? A lot of the bikes I am seeing are showing all motor, is there a wire tuck write up somewhere here? Anything I can remove without messing up the "rideability" or stability? Once again I am in the pre fab stage here, I appologize in advanced if I didn't look throughly enough here, google seems to be prodominantly honda Cb write ups, which are helpful, but obviously not make specific.

I cant gelp you with specifics, BUT I would recommend saving the original bits you remove in case you ever decide to return it to stock. Judging from the tail, it looks like you may have a decent set of plastics. You could always sell it to fund your project if you have no intent to go back to stock.

Id say there isn't a baseline build for a cafe, its whatever your wallet and imagination can mustar up. As far as the wire tuck my route is primarily under the seat, and extend the wiring relocate the battery under the tail. Most of the members on here are biased to stock builds. So you might be able to sell what your not using.

Hey. I am going to look at this exact bike forca project. Wondering how you have made out with the modifications. Was originally looking at an 850gs but this opportunity came up. Any pictures or advice would be greatly appreciated.
