All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey Everyone,

So I completed my MSF course about 2 weeks ago, and was swamped with school work and rain until yesterday. Making the most of this opportunity i decided to go out for a short ride on my 850G with my friend and his CBR600. Before leaving we planned a little route that would take us no more than 20 miles from home as it was my first real time riding. That route lasted until lunchtime, when we decided there was WAY to much fun to be had than just by following the plan. We ended up riding in through Harriman State Park in New York, which was a great time with gorgeous view and better roads. Regrettably i did not bring my camera with me but i will for sure next time. :o We ended up pulling back in to the garage in newark 4 hours and 115 miles after we started. With a thunderstorm just about to start :D. It was a blast and i was really proud that my little (ish) old bike performed as good as he did. Ran strong and smooth and without a hitch the whole time. Thats what these bikes are all about, having fun with great friends and getting into adventures.

Congrats on taking and passing the MSF course.
It sounds like you had a great first ride. I cannot remember the number of times that i have taken "the long way home" when out on the GS.

Cool story and thanks for sharing. Have fun and stay safe.

Thanks for sharing your special moment with us. I'm sure it brings back fond memories for many of us.

Thanks for reading my little story. Since that first ride last Tuesday I've done over 600 miles on the GS :D. Must say my budget bike is quite the machine. I can understand why these bikes are still wanted by many people.
This is a great site and I enjoy reading about everyone's projects and adventures.

Great start to your moto-lifestyle! Harriman St. Park is a great place to ride, and Bear Mt. is right around the corner, next time you are up that way.

Enjoy!
