A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I just got in from synching my carbs and 1, 3 and 4 are pulling a great vacuum at idle but #2 just cant get up there - it's like 8-10 inches under the other cylinders. No vacuum leaks and the bike idles great so I'm not really sure where to go next. Any ideas?

Sounds exactly like the vacuum line to the petcock isn't plugged.

did you try turning the screw so the butterfly valve closes all the way?

vacuum go up at all? whens the last time you adjusted your valves?

I personally have never done it, the PO said it was done about 5000 miles ago, and to be honest I'm not exactly sure how to or I would...

i can do it in 30-45 minutes but ive done it before so id say first time would take 1-1/2 to 2 hours. pretty easy once you do it though.

Is your bike an 8-valve or 16-valve? If it's an 8-valve engine, send me an e-mail, I will reply with my spreadsheet that helps you keep track of your adjustments and shim sizes.

It's a 16 valve, so no shims but twice the hassle haha.

only thing i can think of that would lower vacuum would be intake valves messed, and that may be from a warped rocker arm maybe?

I ordered a valve cover gasket and new pilots (they are too small - I'm out like 3.5 turns) so I am going to adjust valves Wednesday and report back!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Also check the vaccum dia on the slide assembly make sure it is correctly seated in the carb
