A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Just wanted to send out a reminder that if you want your rally listed on the homepage of The GSResources, please let me know. If you are looking to get more exposure for your event, be sure to email or DM the details to Frank (administrator). I will 'stick' your forum thread as well.

There is no longer a restriction to only annual rides. As long as your ride is a sure bet then I'll list it...

Please note that you may list all GS related events in the forum calendar.

    One final suggestion...
When creating a thread for a new ride, please continue to update the first article in the thread with the latest ride information. This saves people from having to wade through pages of posts for the updated information.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Is anyone else planning on attending the AMA Vintage Days weekend July 25-27 at the Mid Ohio racetrack in Ohio?

https://vintagemotorcycledays.com/

I've been meaning to go here for years, and I'm finally making it happen. I'm planning on riding out from Indianapolis and meeting up with my brother who will likewise ride out from PA with a friend of his. We'll all be astride old Yamaha XS/XJ bikes and staying with a friend whose house is practically next to the track.

If any GSR members are attending, please let me know, it would be fun to have a little impromptu rally-within-a-rally

I'm tempted, but that Saturday is my wedding anniversary. I could go, but then I likely wouldn't be able to go home. :boxing:

Haha well put Rich. I think we should instead start scheming on a 2026 PA ride, I'd like to trailer the Sportster out that way to spend a few days on back roads.

I'll probably be there. I've been going for the last 15 years or so.
If you camp, bring your big boy party shoes! Folks really like to have fun!
It all starts mellowing out around 11:00pm so it's not that crazy.
Lots of cool vintage motorcycles, some racing, and the swap meet area is like no other!

I was debating ponying up for a tent spot just to be in the middle of the craziness but decided I preferred to stay at my buddy's place (where we will do some partying of our own I'm sure). I'll send you a private message so you have my contact info if you want to meet up!

Do you guys think there will be any GSXRs for sale there?

Older ones? I think there's a little bit of *everything* there from what I've heard. It's a massive swap meet of jap/import stuff.

I go every single year for the past 11 or 13 years now!
Norm, I haven't ran into you there for a while!

It's likely there could be some old GSXR's there for sale, but no guarantees! I know where there are several sitting in a warehouse an hour from the event. Next time I go over there to help my buddy with some electrical work for his shop space, I'll see if his boss has any plans to sell any of them. It's the old Rice Paddy Vintage Japanese Motorcycle salvage/parts business guys, it's not open to the public but they still have a different location absolutely jam-packed full of bikes. You could try emailing the owner from their website and ask if he has any old GSXR's for sale?

I keep threatening to sell a couple of my project bikes at AMA Vintage Days, as I am just flooded with projects of all sorts including truck projects and two-stroke dirt bike projects and 4 of my wife's project bikes, I spend far more time riding my two-stroke dirt bikes nowadays then riding my street bikes, so I thought owning five Suzuki GS models was a little bit excessive but I can't bear to part with any of them yet!
I was contemplating selling either my GS750 or my GS1000, they basically weigh the same and have the same cornering clearance, but one has a much larger engine! I have endless parts for both with lots of spares, 1100G top ends etc. if anyone's looking for any GS 8 valve parts, let me know!!!

I wonder if there's a good place/time for us to plan to meet up at the track? Ideally a place to park bikes together or something like that? I'll be staying at a buddy's place near the track but I don't have the gall to turn his driveway into an impromptu GSR meetup :p

We're only a few weeks away from this. Do folks want to coordinate to try and meet up somewhere near the swap meet entrance or wherever else at a certain time on Friday or Saturday? I'm riding in Thursday around noon and staying til Sunday morning.

To follow up on this event, I did end up riding out from Indy on my '79 XS1100F and meeting up with my brother, who rode out from PA on his '79 XS750F. It was a really fun event. I had the "luxury" of camping out on my friend's property, who lives right down the road from the track. Kept me a bit out of the chaos and night time dirt bike burnout competitions though I was still well within earshot. Just part of the crazy somewhat hectic (alcohol fueled) experience I guess. It was pretty hot and muggy tent camping as well. But I will definitely try to make it out there again in the future. Swap meet is of epic proportions, the road racing was great. And riding the track was a lot of fun as well.
