A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yeah good luck, hopefully there's just some niggly bit of crud sitting somewhere it shouldn't be...

I'm not too much help either I'm afraid, I'm only learning as I go with my 450 rebuild and haven't even gotten close to touching the carbs yet.

The carbs are soaking as we speak, i'll check them in the morning. desperately need the o-ring kit now!

Carbs are clean, you should see the amount of crap that came out of them, pics to come.

I think in this case we will call that a good thing?
waiting for pics, did you use the metho/petrol mix or something else?

Used metho petrol mix, i dont know if the metho and petrol seperate overnight but if they dont then there was alot of water in the fuel i used

Ok put carbs back together, set the float height as best i could with going off the suzuki manual and the carbs are flooding horribly, i checked for stuck needles, they were both fine... I've had enough of this bike....

I sent you a PM, but the only time my carbs were flooding was caused by the petcock.
You said you checked yours though, i think?

Yep checked the fuel tap and its working properly. I replied to your pm.

Bugger! Is it possible for something to screw with the vacuum line or something? If it's like my 450, it should only feed the carbs with fuel if there's a vacuum (I think I put that right).

Yeah, i've tested the fuel tap by sucking on the hose and fuel only flows when there is vacuum on it. I'll pull the carbs off tomorrow and put them on the bench with a fuel supply, i'll take the bowls off and se if fuel stops flowing when the floats are at there highest, i'll start with that.

I think i could pull these on and off the bike with my eyes shut.. lol

Good idea! Good luck and I hope you see something stupidly obvious that makes you go "aaaaaah" and slap your head and then it all magically goes back into place and runs like a dream... we can only hope :D

I was thinking that maybe my new o-rings arnt sealing, but they needed a little pressure to go in and cant come out without some pliers so they should be ok. I hope they are fixed tomorrow, up to 6 pages of crap now lol

Aaaah interesting! I hadn't gotten that far through BassCliff's site yet, glad you found it :)

Ok changes made, now its test ride time. Its about to Pour down here so i gotta make it quick!

2pm: Ok, now its bogging down and if i give it abit of choke it will go away, so i put that down to leaning out now... its like that movie, never ending story

ok well i'm abit lost with what to do now..... I sprayed water onto the inlet rubbers with the bike idling and there was no change, i'll find something with ether in it and see if the revs go up.

Other than that i have no idea what to do?

You do need to run it with the proper air box and filter connected otherwise it will run lean
