So I finally got the GS850G legal today and took it for some shakedown rides. Other than a sticking brake and leaky forks I didn't have much of a problem, but MAN is this thing HOT!! I haven't ridden a bike with a full fairing in years, and for the last four I've been riding a BMW with a sidecar. Doesn't help that it's 90 degrees and humid as hell, but should it feel like I've got two heating pads on extra high strapped to my calves? It's almost to the point of being painfull...
I may have to take the lowers off in the summer.
The bike seems to run out of power above 3/4 throttle so I'm going to re-check the float level this weekend. I also somehow mis measured #4 intake shim- it's tapping pretty good and I will have to fix that too. I have some misc. oil leaks and tuning to do, but the bike runs smooth at speed and handles pretty well, alll things considered.
