Hey guys.

Im struggling to find any aftermarket exhausts for my 81 gsx400f. Whether it be in Kit form, or ready to go.

I know some models had a 4-1 system stock... some 4-2. Im not too fussed which i can find, but would love a raw SS (or titanium? :P ) kit or ready system.

Would really like to upgrade because it feels like they used 1/4" thick steel on the stock unit... soo heavy!

Does anyone have any leads, I havent had any luck :(

cheers!

Many thanks

Hi nikosg, Don't know anything about your model or what exhausts might be available. If it is like the rest of the 4 cylinder line, you are probably going to have to find a custom built system. You might want to check with pete, also an oz member here, he had a very nice system made up for his 450 twin. Ray

You can certainly ask Tranzac who did mine, but unless he has a jig ready to go he'll need your bike for a few weeks to get it done which could be a bit difficult given your location.

Otherwise if you have a good exhaust shop near you give them a bell... my pipes were just under $800 which was about half the price I expected...

yeh i think ill have to go for a custom application... thanks Pete once again :)

No worries mate... I'm sure you'll have a choice of good exhaust shops given where you are...

You can then have the satisfaction of knowing you have a very unique bike too ;)

It already is unique mate.... there are essentially no aftermarket parts for this bike whatsoever!!! lol making times very expensive.

Only aftermarket part ive found that may come tax time are some Keihin CR carbs ;)

THANKS MATE!!

Can anyone vouch for the quality of these exhausts? i have never heard of them are Marving a good brand?

They're a good make. I've got a 4-1 Racing on one S and had one on my 1100. They weigh next to nothing, the finish is good and they make a decent noise (with the baffle in - they're a little loud without......).

Do they obstruct the sump/oil filter accessibility ?? that s a deal breaker for me i think.

thanks for the info.
